Terminus - Back Among The Blind

I first heard Terminus on a benefit compilation tape for the 1in12 Club and loved them instantly. They became one of my favourite all time bands. I've got all their records.

They were a nice bunch of blokes from Scunthorpe and we played with them a few times.

Now, being working class in the 90s punk scene was a bit of a strange experience at times. The scene was full of frightfully middle class people, who although often well-meaning, and broadly politically aligned (at least for the time being) had no concept of their class privilege and, moreover, would avoid any acknowledgement of class as an (the?) issue, in favour of other single issues.

Mark, who wrote the lyrics and sang, was aligned with the Anarchist-Communist Federation. He understood his politics and wrote proper anarchist lyrics from a working class perspective, which stood out like a dog's balls from the trustafarian middle class crustie punk so popular at the time. We got on.

If I remember correctly, the bloke who played guitar on this album left to join a bhangra group. He was a very good guitarist.
