Level 42 - Level Best

My Saturday morning, post-parkrun, making breakfast listen. It's been a difficult week and I wanted something to soothe my frayed nerve endings and Mark King's thin-stringed, chorus-y bass sound was just what I needed. It led me down an internet rabbit hole of bass talk which was interesting and relaxing.

All their bangers are on here, I reckon, plus some less bang-y.

The record itself was previously owned by PBA in Salisbury (the one in the northern suburbs of Adelaide, rather than the original Novichok nerve agent poisoning one.) It has 5PBS written in Sharpie all over it and masking tape around the edges of the sleeve.

I think I've said this before, but it's hard to describe just how new, original and exciting Level 42 once sounded.
