@jannem
there's a road i use to go to work that i call 「habu road」, i see snakes there at least once a week in summer. there is a very wide pavement on one side of the road, the side with the grasses that are higher than me, and *people run there*
i'm quite terrified to use this road, and i'm on the road on a bicycle, and people just go and run just next to the high grasses ! ∑(OωO; )

I used to run through a narrow forest road near oist. I've seen snakes three times (and was pursued by a habu once; a car came by and scared it off). And people living on campus see snakes on that road every week.

Still, it's a pleasant stretch of road and lots of people do walk or run there, so far without bites, so it's probably decently safe. But not going there any longer is a bit of a relief 😋
