Sometimes you know a job is toxic without ever having to work there.
in reply to Ricki Crush Bandicute Tarr

😂 those last two say it all. They hate ppl that start their own business?!? 🤔 😂
in reply to Enoch

@Utah44 Among the various glowing red flags, the thing about but being a former small business owner is just weird. Wtf is that about?
in reply to Dale Hagglund

@DaleHagglund right?! 😂 such a weird thing to hate. Isn’t this your business?! 😂
in reply to Enoch

@Utah44 @DaleHagglund I found the company, and OMG this is the Scariest Place Ever! "Kings Loot is a faith-based ecommerce company that builds everyday carry products that last a lifetime, including wallets, watches, belts, accessories, and luxe bags. This company values Kingdom Culture, honor, integrity, leadership, teamwork, and excellence. This team feels like a family...." career.com/job/integrateup/kin…
in reply to Hugs4friends ♾🇺🇦 🇵🇸😷

@Tooden Yup. I also found a website that described "Kingdom Culture" this way: "Our lifestyle should always reflect the lifestyle of our Lord."

Because as everyone knows, Jesus went around with a Tuscan leather magnetized "luxe" wallet and iPhone case and bragged about how quickly he grew his company to be worth tens of millions of dollars.

@msbellows Too right. He didn't chase the money-changers out of the temple for the reason the old bible says. They had camped on His pitch.
His other miracles were obviously sales pitches. It's all in JC:Superstar.
Australia's previous PM was one of these Mammon worshippers. His golden calf was a $4,000 outdoor kitchen... which he worshipped at every weekend.
in reply to Hugs4friends ♾🇺🇦 🇵🇸😷

Jesus threw them out because they had their own business and didn't like constructive criticism

in reply to M.S. Bellows, Jr.

@msbellows @Tooden I spent 2 years in a prosperity church many many years ago. "Kingdom Culture" is one of the worst kinds of corruption of the Christian message, short of outright cults. I wouldn't take that job, if offered, if it was the last job available in the world. 😅
in reply to M.S. Bellows, Jr.

@msbellows I worked at a “Christian-values” business once. I don’t know why they never realize that Christian values (helping your fellow humans) and business values (making as much money as possible) are fundamentally incompatible.
in reply to Mighty Orbot

@mighty_orbot @msbellows American Christianity is mostly devoid of Christ. I mean, sure, they know Baby Jesus but not the revolutionary.
in reply to Yellow Flag

@WPalant @astroPug @Utah44 @DaleHagglund Which is why they won't hire anyone who's ever had their own business. There is one daddy in that family and he must be obeyed.
in reply to Dale Hagglund

@DaleHagglund @Utah44 The only things I can think of are
a. Bosses don't want anyone who knows as much about business as them, because they can't take not being the "expert" at that
b. Bosses don't want anyone who knows how to identify the shitty, possibly illegal things the bosses are doing.

@guyjantic @DaleHagglund @Utah44 Nah, this is just a list describing their last umpteen employees and the reasons *they* tell themselves it didn't work out (and not, frinstance, them being complete controlling arseholes to work for).
in reply to Dale Hagglund

@DaleHagglund @Utah44 it's about being independent minded, having your own ideas about how to run a company.
But honestly it just reads like a list of negative personal experiences with applicants rather than a well thought-out set of requirements.
in reply to Dale Hagglund

@DaleHagglund @Utah44 Maybe they don't want someone who knows that running a business doesn't mean you're that much smarter than anyone else. Or anyone who knows how to actually run a business, so knows their new boss is an idiot.
in reply to Ricki Crush Bandicute Tarr

I don’t know what company this is or what they do, but I want them to fail spectacularly. They deserve nothing less than the worst.
in reply to Ricki Crush Bandicute Tarr

Don't be a "yes man" or a "know how to run a business" person. :blobcatflop: Oophf. Fascinating lack of self-awareness from the hiring manager.
in reply to Ricki Crush Bandicute Tarr

All of those are red flags but "has a problem with Christianity" is a giant fucking banner you can see from space.
in reply to Ricki Crush Bandicute Tarr

On top of everything, he doesn't want anyone who has any idea how a business could/should be run.

Yeah, that job is going to suuuuuuuuuck.

in reply to Ricki Crush Bandicute Tarr

The last two questions say to me, "we don't want anyone who has options, we want you totally locked in so we can be as abusive as we want."

Run, don't walk.

in reply to Ricki Crush Bandicute Tarr

This positively 'yells' that the boss is a controlling arsehole, who can't keep employees for more than a day - even when he puts superglue on the chair. They'd rather leave pantsless than stick around a nanosecond longer.
in reply to Ricki Crush Bandicute Tarr

Local MAGA pizza shop owner had a very similar job posting a while back.

He and his wife were bigwigs in the state’s Republican Party.

He came to our town to open a pizza restaurant after his last closed because he could not find anyone in town to work there. (He was known for assaulting his employees and stiffing them on wages.)

Fast forward six months, and the guy is dead after having a shootout with police when they came to arrest him for killing his wife.

in reply to Ricki Crush Bandicute Tarr

With everyone else I say Holy Shit.

I also say the last one is both unexpected and disturbing. But I guess it's in keeping with the tone of the rest, now that I think about it.

in reply to Ricki Crush Bandicute Tarr

what’s MST? Not that this is the most redflaggy line, but I’m morbidly curious.

Edit: got it, thanks! 😀

If one were to simply read Revelation 2-3 in the Christian Bible, they would see that God has a problem with Christianity.

You WANT people who know how businesses work

@johnoestmannmusic
Not if you're embezzling. I discovered a lot of Oklahoma was particularly bad about that as it was "just the way business has always been done." Never mind how illegal it is if your buddies with the political leaders.

@markc568 I know many lovely Christians but I can guarantee whoever runs this business is not one of them.
in reply to Goldside543

@Goldside543 no it's at least as big a red flag as any of the others: the type of person who would write that in a job advertisement is not the type of person that would understand the literal meaning of those words in that sentence.

They also make those As Seen on TV late night RFID anti-tracking money clip wallets for $100 or more a pop.

Got laid off from a place that was veering into this territory, but they'd be a hell of a lot more professional on the form. ...prefer it honest like this lol
in reply to Ricki Crush Bandicute Tarr

‘Has a problem with Christianity’ - so a god-bothering mob that rips people off with illegal wages and conditions, all in the name of religion. All the other conditions would suggest knowledge of legal wages and conditions eg running your own business or working in teams.
in reply to Ricki Crush Bandicute Tarr

You need to be independent and not just do what others tell you, except we don't want anyone who has done something independent like own their own business.

It is really weird to have a job listing for a business include "we don't want anyone who owns or has owned a business"....like, what weird ass crimes or shenanigans are you up to that you don't want someone who knows better around?

in reply to Ricki Crush Bandicute Tarr

Who was it that said "Be like the lilies of the field, and give no thought for the 'morrow?"
in reply to Ricki Crush Bandicute Tarr

I think the software utilised by the company says the same thing

I‘m lost at the last one. Most of the others are „To work here you must love stress and getting belittled“ … but someone who formerly had a company would likely be used to stress?
in reply to Ricki Crush Bandicute Tarr

I like how they put a warning sign so blundly up.
i am actually curious how the company is doing in a year and would love to play "mice" there with a lot of popcorn watching this environment as a katastrophentrourist ^^
in reply to Ricki Crush Bandicute Tarr

I wonder if the person that created this cesspool of an ad ever realizes that a minimum of 2/3 of that list was never an an attribute of the other persons around.

I can imagine the types of mental gymnastics needed to get most of those requirements, but the last two... any ideas? 😅
in reply to Ricki Crush Bandicute Tarr

That is a huuuuuge red flag. I have yet to see something that astonishing, but definitely exists.
in reply to Ricki Crush Bandicute Tarr

Typical, HR people are dumb. 🤣
Clearly they need a "yes man" - a person who will agree with whatever bullshit the company throws at them.
That place is toxic before start working there, imagine after someone gets the job. Is it onemof the company from the Muskrat/Bezos/Shittenberg group? These guys give nuclear waste a new definition 💣
in reply to Ricki Crush Bandicute Tarr

Based on the passage about Christianity, this is practically an asshole promise.
in reply to Ricki Crush Bandicute Tarr

Is this... actually real? Is it even legal to say you can't work somewhere if you've ever been an independent contractor lol?
in reply to Ricki Crush Bandicute Tarr

thats even before you look at the utterly cursed tech stack (it makes little sense to use *both* Google Sheets and Excel/365, putting the business at the mercy of Google unless the CEO is too cheap to pay for a proper MS365 tenant with multiple users. Also I've seen this Kings Loot stuff around and at least these days it seems to be all Made in China and drop shipped..
in reply to Alex@rtnVFRmedia Suffolk UK

ironically I share an office with a Finance Manager who *is* a devout Christian, but also has his own accounting /payrollcompany (which is fully declared to my employers) and they have 0 problem with that (nor me doing an occasional side job fixing AV kit at the soft play/trampoline parks of Essex), here its normal and accepted to have multiple jobs provided there isn't any conflict of interest
in reply to Ricki Crush Bandicute Tarr

11 red flags. Pretty impressive.

I am intrigued though, they say the y don't want a "yes man", when they clearly do.

in reply to Schroedinger

@SteveClough from my experience, those who advertise they don’t want a ‘yes man’ want exactly that, but with a bonus of assuring them each time that you share their views because of how great they are
in reply to Ricki Crush Bandicute Tarr

someone just rolled up all the alt right taking points in their very siloed social media feed into a job description to let every one know that the company is owned by a chronically online MAGA jackass with zero critical thinks skills. I wish them I very pleasant chapter 11 bankruptcy filing. #Divest #Divert #Destroy
in reply to Ricki Crush Bandicute Tarr

They seem to bring their christianity to work. What happened to “love thy neighbour?”

I have a friend who interviewed at Netscape in the early days. When they started bragging about the comfortable beds in the office and how great the delivered dinners were, he ran away screaming.

- is abusable
- likes to suffer
- has no self respect
- is a Christian
- will not report workplace mistreatment

2/3 of the first bullet (everything after thin-skinned); and the 7th (MST availability) make sense. The rest of it screams “Run away” and a lot of it appears to violate employment law.
in reply to Ricki Crush Bandicute Tarr

What a nut job...
Fck that. Most employers are equally unfit however. They will asks 10000 things that are just impossible to have together with the really awful pay or desired age they mention... Or have all these side requests - that have absolutely nothing to do with being competent or able to do what is asked "Will enjoy a drink with colleagues on friday night" *I mean, I don't need to drink alcohol to fit in right?!* and there's more BS where this came from. Just mocking my profession as if we're some highly trained monkey that need accomodation for our equal to cleaning labour-like jobs and chores ... fucksake, I'm already running from these freaks of productivity before I applied. I AM HUMAN bitches. I don't want to be treated as a Data-slave. Fck this.

Do not apply if you:

Think you have 'rights'
Have 'opinions' on things competent white men have already decided for you
Answer back
Do not enjoy flagellation
Will not submit to non consensual sex
Think the 'law' will protect you from us
Do not agree that 'Daddy is always right'
Insist on opening your pie hole & speaking
Do not say 'Thank you daddy' with appropriately averted eyes after being slapped for insolence
Don't have a nice smile
Have any aspirations or dreams at all
