OK, might as well ask: Does anyone know of a law firm that could provide counsel for me and finalize a submission of an amicus curiae brief that I have already written for the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court?

Update: whooo filed pro se! It only took 4 browsers on 2 computers to get the electronic filing to work, and I need to get printed copies in the mail for everyone who is not registered to be served automatically, but I am now officially a fool who has themselves for a client.
A group I was in submitted a Superior Court (not SJC) amicus curiae. It was indeed very helpful to have some law students help us with formatting and structure and argument, but having a full lawyer might not have mattered.
Butβwhat kind of lawyer? And if finding one fails, I'd maybe try some of the clinics at the law schools.
@itamarst It's a question of Internet policy, 1st Amendment and privacy, though I don't know if a specialist in those particular fields would be required, since the biggest obstacle to resolve is that one can't actually file a brief in the system without a professional.
I just took a taxi to the Woburn Superior Court and handed over printed copies. I.e. I was able to file in person and didn't need access to the computer system. Might be able to do that for SJC too? I'd ask the clerk, if you haven't already.
But also, given the topic, I'd reach out to ACLUM maybe?
@itamarst Interesting! I spoke with the clerk about whether the deadline was absolutely rigid, but not about whether I could file in person on my own recognizance (as it were).

I just learned that I need to put alt text on URLs for more accessible PDFs, but -- what should it say?
I am formatting academic citations that include a URL, so all the information about where that link will take you is in the text. I don't want it to read the URL to you and I don't want to just repeat the same information you just heard. What do you find most helpful in this situation?
Iβm a low vision user. I get both the idea behind the new rule and its apparent absurdity. But on my bad days, I would want the URL alt text to tell me the title and author of the article. This would be a double check on my brain foggy days, when Iβve scrolled past the citation and then gone back up.
Alt text is for images or other non-text content. Not URLs, they are text, although a link may have a title.
Titles may or may not be read out by screenreaders depending on the user's settings. You can't rely on them.
Use meaningful link text describing what the link does or where it goes. If you must include the URLs in the text, because for example the document may be printed, add an appendix headed References or Citations.
@WeirdWriter Ooh, maybe I do? Maybe the higher ups who have given me this list don't know enough to know they are using the wrong terms? I certainly don't know if it's the wrong term, myself!
I feel like I know a lot about making a web page accessible, but much less about making PDFs accessible. I think I'm going to have to get on Duck Duck Go and see if I can find a good PDF-focused accessibility resource.

How did you go with this? Do you have a link to anything saying you need alt text on links? Everything I learnt is that you need MEANINGFUL TEXT on links, ie <a href="nvaccess.org">NV Access website</a>. Reading sites like w3schools.com/tags/tag_a.asp the only thing I can think is using alt text if you use an image as a link? But that is for the image, not the link. PDF should be similar. Creating from Word for instance, there is no provision for alt text on a link in Word.
