I reuse plastic takeout containers for palettes for painting. I plan to start using small plastic containers to hold so premixed paint to prevent drying out & speed up my process. I try to repurpose & reuse a lot. I reuse larger jars for leftovers. No need to buy plastic tubs. I also try to choose better materials like wooden spoons and chopsticks, & wood butter knives too. also upcycled waste…all my old paintbrushes and paint tubes are going to become a mirror frame…soon.

@cqd_sos I still don’t understand why any forces are allowed to use tear gas against citizens. It’s a chemical agent, and a dangerous one to those with any respiratory conditions. As well as just being generally inhumane.

@Hex @LDJ Not by the Geneva Convention, afaik, but by the Geneva Protocol 1925 and the Chemical Weapons Convention 1993.
Prosecuting violations would the International Criminal Court in The Hague though, founded by its corresponding Rome Statute, to which the United States is not a state party. Meaning the US does not cede jurisdiction to the ICC.
So even if the US were "at war with the US", legal protection against the use of tear gas would not exist.
@cqd_sos @LDJ except if the US is not able to administrate justice itself, as was the case with the Nazis and is the case with the US, as proved by Trump pardoning war criminals during his first term. All of this would be relevant, if international law actually meant something.
It's called the City of Angels, and I saw some today. I saw one covering a tear gas canister with a homemade neutralizer. I watched one encircle a stranger's child in her arms to keep her safe. I saw them back ICE into a corner. I saw one walking away while tear gas rained down around him, so others could escape. I saw them everywhere today; helping, protecting, healing, taking action, being brave. I used to think angels had wings. Turns out they've been among us the entire time. I love you LA.

when you put out #water for our #insect friends on hot dry days, make sure to put a stone inside the water, so anypwny falling in has the chance to swim to the stone and to get out by climbing its rough (low biofilm) over water surface. If you put the stone to the edge of the water container you can connect it to one of those holding the container in place forming a bridge for those, who can not fly, but still smell the fresh water. Flying ones like in the picture just land on the stone after a few explorative cycles. #gardening #insects #photography #feditips @gardening group

My cat prefers to drink water from a bowl with a pebble in it. I guess, it makes water more tasty. Since I noticed that at the outside bowl, now all water bowls get a stone.
