Tumblr’s fediverse integration might finally happen soon.
A spokesperson told TechCrunch that Tumblr will join the open social web once it finishes its move to WordPress.
When the migration is complete, Tumblr users will be able to federate their blogs through ActivityPub. Users may even gain access to “other open web integrations,” such as the ability to “run other custom plug-ins or themes,” TechCrunch reports.

Rescuers in Scotland saved an exhausted cat who was trapped underground during a storm for 5 days.
The SPCA was called to the site of a Dundee apartment building where the cries of 15-year-old Cleo the Bengal cat had gotten the attention of residents.

Anthropic’s new research suggests people use AI for coding the most.
The company’s new “Economic Index” aims to show how AI is impacting the labor market over time. Its initial report shows questions in the “computer and mathematical” category made up 37.5 percent of all queries sent to its AI chatbot Claude. YouTube will roll out technology to “estimate” a user’s age.
As lawmakers continue to pressure online platforms about child safety, YouTube CEO Neal Mohan said on Tuesday that the company is working on a machine learning-powered tool that will “help provide the best and most age-appropriate experiences and protections” for users later this year. While Oscar Wilde is in prison, his play Salome (written in 1891) is premièred in its original French by Lugné-Poe's Théâtre de l'Œuvre company in Paris, perhaps at the Comédie-Parisienne. Because the play depicted biblical characters it was banned in Britain and was not performed publicly there until 1931.
