Carney knows Trump's reputation and will be polite but firm.
Trump's response to firm is woolliness - negotiating with him has been likened to trying to nail jelly to a wall - and Carney knows that and will be prepared for it.
I'm not sure what he'll do but gentle parenting really isn't his style

I listened to him responding to questions from a UK select committee (who are supposed to know what they're talking about) and he was clearly enjoying demonstrating that he was the smartest person in the room.
I wonder if he intends to rein that impulse in when he talks to Mango Musselini
