The response will “have maximum impacts in the U.S.” and minimum impacts in Canada.
He adds that the government will protect workers and build a new Canadian economy.
“I reject any attempts to weaken Canada,” Carney said.
He says he'll be speaking to Trump in a day or 2.

Carney knows Trump's reputation and will be polite but firm.
Trump's response to firm is woolliness - negotiating with him has been likened to trying to nail jelly to a wall - and Carney knows that and will be prepared for it.
I'm not sure what he'll do but gentle parenting really isn't his style
