The headline here is that the Dept. of Homeland Security wants to deport 100 million people from, which is over a quarter of the entire population. As a reminder, Nazi Germany started with a deportation plan, too. We know how that turned out.
Tempted to think that I'm being melodramatic? How many "they'd never dare" things do they have to actually do before you start to catch on? We are in terrible danger.
I saw it this past weekend... the worst boat name ever. I'm sure you've seen the clichés, like Sea-renity, or the scatological, like Passing Wind, but aside from being overdone, they're okay. This one, though:

The toxic machismo expressed in boat names bragging about one's sexual prowess is already awful, but this one's doesn't even make any sense! It's not a pun or play on words, so, just, why?

@Lassielmr @TenderheartTreasuresKy We *inspired* the Nazis. Hitler had a picture of Ford hanging by his desk. And it goes way beyond "just" racism (as if that weren't terrible enough on its own). To this day, 31 states have laws *explicitly* legalizing the forced sterilization of autistic people.

The second paragraph of the linked wikipedia page acknowledges the definition I was thinking about as an evolution of the term, and I think it's the one that applies more often on modern social networks. The "algorithm hell" is definitely the most commonly used definition I've seen.
Regardless of the definition you like the most, on the fediverse you can't just get hidden from the masses, without knowing it, for talking about sensitive topics. You can be moderated, but if you don't like your instance or it's defederated you can just migrate to a more visible one.

Not without some reason: They were deceived by an independent production contractor who did not disclose that the child who is the focus of the story has family ties to a minor Hamas minister. Producing the program isn't actually a crime, but just it existing threatens the BBC's reputation.
