In the U.S. "naturalization" is what they call granting citizenship to someone who doesn't have it by birth. "Denaturalization" would presumably mean stripping citizenship from someone who has it.

I tracked Ogles from the start of the session, and it was immediately obvious that he's got something wrong with him. This is a guy who pulled -- I am not making this up -- straight F's in one semester. I'd never even heard of that outside of some comedies. He's unhinged.

I permanently ditched Windows a couple of years back when Windows 11’s AI freak show direction of travel was clear (and it’s entirely arbitrary block from being “compatible” with my laptop for the crime of being 1 year too old) and it's been liberating. Thanks to Steam's Proton there is not one single thing I could do on Windows that I can't do as well, or better, under Linux.

@richardwonka I don’t think exclusion from the UN is a good idea, it’s meant to bring all nations together for engagement and diplomacy, warts and all. What we probably need to exclude from the UN is the dominance of a few powerful abusive states who currently render it near useless.

Mä en tiedä milloin suomalaiseen journalismiin ilmesty tää fantasia et se toimii jotenkin täysin maagisen puolueettomasti kaikkien yhteiskunnan rakenteiden ulkopuolella, saatikka että sitä ei koskaan voi perustellusti kritidoida, mut mun mielestä tää on aivan helvetin iso ongelma.

@anuko @magdalenahai Riippumattomuus tarkoittaa, että kykenee toimittajana pitämään omat intohimonsa ominaan ja erottamaan ne työstään. Tätä ammattitaitoa ei tunnuta arvostettavan ajassa, jossa kaikki toimivat jossain mediassa.

Hesari oli Nuorsuomalaisten pää-äänenkannattaja joka jatkoi samalla linjalla kun puolue kuoli ympäriltä. Aamulehti oli Kokoomuksen äänenkannattaja 1990-luvulle asti.
Turun Sanomat oli alusta asti "sitoutumaton ja riippumaton", mutta sen päätoimittaja ja omistaja oli valtiopäivämies ja kansanedustaja Nuorsuomalaisille. Ilkan takana on alkiolaisuus. Keski-Suomalainen on julkisesti liputtanut populismin puolesta.½

Hesarilla on harvasen viikko juttu jonka lopussa lukee "Helsingin Sanomat kuuluu samaan konserniin kuin [jutussa oleva yritys]". Riippuvuusside sekin, vaikka toimittaja ottaisi etäisyyttä.
Sekin että toimittaja on "ammattilainen" eikä "sooloile" (kuten sanoit) on viime kädessä toimituksen riippuvuuksien sisäistämistä.
Harri Nykäsen poistuminen Hesarin leivistä on aika hyvin dokumentoitu esimerkki, vain yhden mainitakseni.

Olettaen ettet näe mm. Hesarina "uutena ja ideologisena", niin veikkaan että teet virheen jossa status quon ylläpito on neutraalia, ja sen haastaminen ideologista. Tämä näkyy aika usein valtalehdissä.
Hypoteesini on ollut että ylempiin keskituloisiin kuuluvina (ja luokkamatkoja tekemättöminä) suurlehtien toimitukset eivät sillä tavalla näe yhteiskunnan ongelmakohtia, ja yritykset ovat usein luokkaa "köyhäilin syömällä kampaviinerit toimituksessa" -jutut.
@iju @magdalenahai Minusta tuossa oppikirjassa on saatettu vähän sekoittaa käsitteitä. Sidoksilta on mahdotonta välttyä, jokainen toimii jossain kehikossa. Sidosten ei kuitenkaan tarvitse antaa aiheuttaa riippuvuutta. Tämä ei ehkä ollut kirjoittajalle aivan selvää.

I left similar comment to a nation wide ISP, that bought out all the local options, then instantly did a price hike while lowered the speeds and introduced random network connectivity issues to my fibre connection.
I can only assume that feedback was discarded as just "the mandatory disgruntled customer who does not represent our customer base as whole". The rest were very positive about the price hike and exciting moments of feeling unplugged.
