Rhetorical question.
And is there anything more obvious than that the Trump admin is filled with DEI hires whose only qualification is being white, Christian and extremist?
Trump is the ultimate DEI president. He's never earned anything in his life.

in reply to Laffy • • •Why does the media ask such awful question?
"Are you saying..." is absurd given Trump's history of lies, conspiracies, doublespeak and nasty coded innuendos.
The question is "What evidence is there that....". And the follow up is " Show me"
Edit: corrected to the actual question asked.

TRUMP: No, I don't think so
C: Does it comfort their families to hearing you blaming DEI?
R: That's not a very smart question

These people understand the power of access journalism.

in reply to Laffy • • •So the big question for a while was, "Who will they blame when everything they try fails?" Because we all know it will fail, miserably. Vengeance and theft are not blueprints for success.
And, here, we see the answer. It is going to be the minorities' faults. When they say DEI, they mean any minoritized person who worked their asses off to grind through prejudice and structural racism to attain their position. They don't see it as the unqualified appointments they are making, no. They see DEI as plack or brown and they are already scapegoating people who fit the description.
