If you are in the U.S., you can buy produce directly from black farmers and they will ship it to you. It can cost less than your supermarket and will piss off people in power.

Trying out Friendica
So I decided to give Friendica a go, as it looks like social media used to back when it was still fun. I'm impressed by all of the features; scheduled posts, groups, circles, privacy settings, events, et cetera. One thing I'm a big fan of is the ability to filter posts by type: video, audio, etc. I often think about all these fedi accounts I have solely for the specialized interfaces…
It is a shame that there aren't many nice looking mobile clients for Friendica, but I'm not opposed to sitting at the computer. In fact, it's probably healthier if using social media is an intentional activity that you sit down to do, like it used to be.
So far, I've been seeing the odd timeout error here on friendica.world, but things seem to go back to normal quickly. Got to say, I like this. I think this will make it onto my keyoxide identity profile after all.

👉 Advice on HRT, doctors, and potential HRT bans (united states)
I have a trans friend who did this recently when she saw her primary care physician:
(quoting her directly)
"Consider asking your primary care physician or endocrinologist to change your formal diagnosis from F64.0 (transsexuality) to E34.9 (endocrine disorder, unspecified)."

"This shouldn’t impact your ability to access HRT or its cost, because you DO have a hormone disorder. In fact, it should protect your access, in the entirely likely event that this regime tries to ban HRT altogether."
"You'll also want to verify that your insurance provider will continue to cover HRT for the new diagnosis."

A recent piece of writing on solar time and older ways to keep time by made me look up the history of time keeping on Wikipedia where i found out about incense clocks. There's something really unique about different hours having different smells and this little device with slowly burning intricate paths
