After “How do we stop Trump?” the second most common question I’ve received this week is “How do we stop Musk?”
Musk's access to our private data is blatant corruption. It is a coup. And while we continue to wait for Democratic leadership to act—what can we as ordinary citizens and residents of this nation do? Enter the Privacy Act of 1974 and a clear call to action each person can and should take.
As always, no paywall. Please read, act, and share.

If the reports are correct, Trump has ordered 32,000 acre-ft (~10 billion gals) of #water released from these reservoirs. That water will, mostly, be lost. Some will evaporate, some will seep into groundwater. Farmers who had rights to that water in the reservoir are now unlikely to have physical or legal access to it. Anticipate legal chaos over water allocations in the summer. #cawater

@bougiewonderland @stephanetremblay @loran_hayden At my local, they keep the homeopathic nonsense in a little section that's under lock and key and they make people ask about what's in it.
Reminds me of the French king who posted guards around potato fields to build interest. Could just be that the kooks are willing to steal the water the city gives them for free.
I wish we lived in a better world.

so this from someone working at the Office of Personnel Management is everything i knew was going to happen, not because of #Project2025.
the tech coup was only possible due to the secrecy surrounding Peter Thiel’s Palantir raid of USGOV data under the guise of their ICE contract.

Palantir offering ICE services makes no sense. their main purpose is to spy on employees.

So I've been a #Protonmail user for like 6 years & honestly it's annoying how the bandwagon is super anti-protonmail right now bc the CEO tweeted a thing, while almost everyone I have to email uses Gmail.

Yes, exactly. There was a UN sponsored study about 20 years ago of private versus public health systems in Africa, where the mix made it easier to compare with fewer variables.
The public systems were cheaper to operate and had better outcomes.
‘According to shipment data from the industry trade group Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute, Americans bought 37% more air-source heat pumps than the next-most-popular heating appliance, gas furnaces, during the first 11 months of the year. That smashes 2023’s record-setting lead of 21%.’
