@Sunshine add Hubzilla and Streams to the mix for more bruises and blood.

Edit: my God, I just remembered! my comment contains the word "blood" in it, can you imagine? 😱😱 That means I would have been banned on it by the automod on Facebook for gore and violence. All while not caring about actual violence and gore reported by the users themselves.

How do you filter all global posts to Friendica instances only?

I would like to see an unique source of content as I check Mastodon separately. I do like the comments under posts from the other platforms though.
in reply to Sunshine

@Sunshine Not sure if it's possible, at least not without an app. That's how the Fediverse works - you get access to every connected network, be it Mastodon, PeerTube, Lemmy, Pixelfed (yes, I saw those too) etc.

In fact, you might have stumbled across posts from other networks on Mastodon too - you only didn't notice because Mastodon and other networks do not display where these actually come from.

I'm able to toggle my 👍👎, but they're a bit slow
... like "<press>, ..., ..., 'oh, you want me to toggle that, don't you?', ..., 'ok, then'".

Seeing these great fediverse platforms makes want to post more

As these open-source platforms are so well made!

If I want to convince more people I know to be here, I will have to make more content.

(Btw, they do not have to be on Friendica for you to follow them. They can be on Mastodon or any other federated site and should be searchable and able to see their posts once you follow them.)

Trying out the alternatives takes time to figure out. At first I jumped out of linux like it was cold water until I realized the value.

You will be missed if Friendica does not work for you.

Welcome Former Facebook Users

Make yourself at home! Friendica has been in development for around 15 years and has a ton of features that you can master!

Thank you for welcoming me. I am just checking out what Friendica is and seeing if it is and how it works. I support of a small opensource convention and we are exploring using Friendica to replace out Facebook presence.

@newsteinleo @sunshine Have also a look at hubzilla which has additional features, eg cloud storage/webdav
in reply to Sunshine

I have not looked at hubzilla yet, thank you for mentioning it. I have been aware of the Fediverse for a few year, but I am only just now really starting to dig into everything that is here. Our big needs are a space were or community can interact with each and where they can get updates on events and news.
