New by me: Citrix forgot to tell you there was a zero day RCE vulnerability used widely since at least May in Netscaler.

Nobody released any technical information until now.

It has been used to pop "critical" organisations in the Netherlands and worldwide.

How is the Citrix Netscaler business unit still alive? I would imagine there’s some smart people out there figuring out a “here’s a way to dump and import your complicated network rules to something else…anything else” tool somewhere? Or is this a “we signed an enterprise contract with Citrix and are stuck with them till the end of time” deal? Like getting stuck with Teams if you’re a large O365 shop?

That's because LLMs aren't intelligent. They're billed as "Artificial Intelligence" but what they actually are is word prediction algorithms.

It's why they suck at math and produce hallucinations. They don't actually know anything. Sure, they have datasets they can draw from, but the LLM doesn't actually know the difference between "banana" and "iron" only that "I eat a banana" makes sense while "I eat iron" doesn't.

With Microsoft Office integrating AI into itself ANNNND charging subscription fees, I'm finding myself using LibreOffice for almost everything now.

LibreOffice is free. Period.

But! Nothing saying you can't take that MS subscription fee and do an annual recurring donation to LibreOffice 😅

Good way to increase LibreOffice's already great functionality.

For years, even before AI, Microsoft products have been plugged on Microsoft servers. I have been using portableapps for decades at work, at least for the sake of always having a toolset I know. You can use it even in a restrictive environment. You copy the directory and here you go! From there, you can install any portableapps, among which libreoffice.
The issue is if you can't use a mobile app. In this case, use gmail or nextcloud to transit your data.

Three years ago (minus a few hours) my egg cracked. It was a long time coming and I fought the realization pretty hard.

A huge part of the reason I was even able to see or accept this about myself was all you weirdos here on Mastodon. The shitposting, the transition timelines, political/social commentary, the awesome hobbies, the support... the mounds of evidence that trans people are just... cool people.

Thanks for making this space what it is, and sharing yourselves so unabashedly. For showing me trans is something worth wanting to be. Thanks for helping me find myself : :transblobcatheart:

As an autistic person, I can often rely on alt text to understand memes. The thing is, memes expect its context to be automatically understood. Yet it is context that I can struggle with if it isn't presented. Therefore, sometimes memes can just look like nonsense to me at first.
It isn't until reading the description for blind people that the context is explained. So, I would argue strongly that alt text for accessibility goes beyond just those that can't physically see.

I’ve absolutely seen photographs where I can’t even tell what the picture is until I read the alt text.

Or sometimes why it’s special. It’s just a picture of a flower but the alt text will say something like “Rare photo of a Trifgitian Cactus Flower, which only blooms every 75 years under the full moon when upside down”.

Not to mention being able to use my phone’s translate function on alt text of foreign memes in languages I can’t speak.

The biggest trick the (far) right pulled off is to convince many people that anti-fascism is politically left. It isn't. Anti-fascism is a politically neutral, foundational requirement for any non-fascist society. Yes, you can be conservative AND anti-fascist. You should be. That is the bare minimum. If you are conservative and do not loudly oppose fascism, you are almost a fascist yourself. Simple, innit?

It is true that it started with socialists etc in Italy against Mussolini but even at that time some conservative and catholic groups started calling themselves anti-fashists.
With the WWII the complete British conservative party does.

@Nowhereman That's a good explanation. I myself did not grow up in Germany but my nascnet understanding of antifascism was heavily influence by the punks vs skinheads type of antifascism I saw going on in Germany as a teenager. It definitely lacked political depth but its immediacy inspired me, as we had our own nazi skins problem in Canada at the time. I agree that antifascism is core human decency and should not be evaluated against a political spectrum.

Why?

I was reading through the list of books that the judge mentioned in his ruling, and one jumped out at me.
When I saw Song of Solomon, my first thought was "Yes, they've Tinsley banned at least partly of the Bible!", but no, it's a Toni Morrison novel.
But yeah, there is no way the Bible will be removed from schools, even though it's full of stuff that would fall under the description of "sexual content".
A partial list.

Serial adultery.
Group sex.
Incest.
Bigamy.
Sex before marriage.

Let's not even start on Onan!

And as for Song of Solomon - quite what that is doing in the Bible, I dont know, it has no historical or religious merit, it is just a rather poetic description of some of the attributes of one of King Solomons mistresses.
And it's probably a lot more sexual than a lot of the books on that list.

Hey Dungeoneers, Shattered Pixel Dungeon has been patched to v3.2.2! This patch is mostly focused on technical improvements on Android and iOS. There'll be more patches later, in particular I want to improve support for phones with smaller display cutouts like hole punches.
