I'm looking for the setting how posts with a lot of text are hidden behind a link.
This setting exists on another instance, but not here.

Ahh yes I wanted to enable that but hadn't yet 😀
It's now enabled and can be found under Settings > Addons > "Show More" settings

OK, now it will be cut off after a certain number of characters.
The setting I mean is a little different.

The maximal pixel height of posts before the Show More link is added, 0 to disable

I think you're looking for a content wrapper, also called a content warning on some systems.

Is there something like that on friendica?
