Friendica performance?
I just registered on friendica.world and the performance is, sad to say, abysmal. Takes around 1 minute for ANY page to open and the site throws internal servers errors left and right.
Anyone's had any better luck with Friendica, or is this what's expected?

I noticed it's gotten better since I registered, but still seems iffy. Works fine for 20 minutes, then slows down to a crawl again for a bit.
Do you know of any larger/faster instances? I'm looking into making a push for "leave FB" with my friend group, but I don't see this, with its performance issues, as something they'd ever agree switching to.

I will have to try out the smaller instances. However there are not as many options.
My observations on Friendica:
- The platform looks much more approachable with the Bookface theme.
- Creating groups is a really complicated as you have to make a separate profile and tick certain settings to convert the account type to group.
- I really wish Friendica had a way to toggle only friendica posts on the global view, as it I would like to see what the other instances are posting using the same kind of format.
- The platform could also really use an iphone app.
- There may be issues with finding your friends profiles.
- Friendica supports 4 apis.
- Friendica existed years before activitypub.

I haven't even consider an app not existing (currently only using this on my PC). They really need that - or a website that works SUPER SMOOTH on a phone.
(but, judging by how the website itself work, that's not a thing)
There's also a couple of other slightly annoying things - for example, I have a couple of PixelFed profiles followed here, which is amazing. Unfortunately, if I Like or Comment on their posts here, it's only showing up HERE, they don't get anything on Pixelfed. Not great, because - in the case of artists - it "fragments engagement" which could hinder their careers.
