when the onions are squishy the broth is done
to the sieved broth
we add potatoes
celery
carrots
and leek
and cook it
then we add the bacon
and our coocked lentils
for thickening add red lentils or mix a part of it and give that back to the pot

Doggerel is fun. Writing doggerel is how you learn the craft of writing more serious verse. Here is some fun doggerel written by Samuel Johnson as parody of bad poetry:
I put my hat upon my head,
And walk'd into the Strand,
And there I met another man
Whose hat was in his hand.
Perfect meter, but nothing to say. And of course "The Night Before Christmas" is definitely doggerel, and also fun.

i'm probably going to be told tomorrow that i'm being laid off, so if anyone has a lead on a decent remote embedded software engineering or unix/linux systems job, i've got a resume to send you.
i don't like discussing the specifics of who my past clients have been in public. however, my most recent position was contracting with the kernel team of a major CDN and cloud services provider that i know many people on fedi are also current or former employees of, maintaining their internal linux distribution (an customized Ubuntu downstream) for their custom server platforms, porting forward and cleaning up patchsets to newer versions of the distribution, fixing issues in toolchains and libraries, etc.
i've also done embedded software work for a large variety of devices including medical, cellular technology, and industrial control equipment, in addition to some consumer products. i've done board bringup and BSP development with Yocto/Openembedded, Buildroot, FreeRTOS, etc, on most major SoC and microcontroller families. when doing business logic, I am most comfortable in C and Lua, but fine working with C++ codebases, and can learn to work with other languages if a project needs it.

as i think a smurf is uniformly colored it depends on wether the sky is one color only and if it is the same color. Also the velocity of the smurf has to be low enough not to burn it up by air friction or to cause red shift.

As I am *technically* a lichen myself, I strongly encourage every human to walk outside, lie down, and allow your bodies to be enfolded by fungus. For the greater glory of Juffo-Wup.

I'm a champion of the "#Avatar" movies
Some people don't like them because they're rather bland and their popularity seems to come with zero impact on culture or society
But there's plenty of other movies for impact
And the popcorn muncher's message is benign, when it could have easily been not-so-benign, so I therefore support the franchise
Also I'm a degenerate knee-jerk contrarian so I champion "Avatar" because so many are unimpressed πΆβπ«οΈ

Copyright protects the expression, not the plot. And screenplays, especially those crafted in Los Angeles, have always had a somewhat tenuous relationship with the adaptation rights, and carry deep expertise in avoiding infringement that can be proven at trial.

@miguelpergamon Harrison did get some of his work legit-adapted into feature movies, and he's dead, so I'm not going to cry for him too much, just because Cameron might be robbing his tomb-treasures. Nor will I defend Cameron on artistic merits. I will salute his deep-water environment expertise, though. Whether he can make an original artwork or not, he does know how to dive, and that is more difficult than outer space.

(If you don't know these, they were modified faked images that had a fake filesystem along with whatever damaged sectors the copy protection looked for and nothing else so they could sometimes be less than 100MB and even the larger ones would compress with transparent filesystem compression down to something like 100KB. You could mount them in Daemon Tools or whatever and things worked without a crack even with updates. If you do know already, disregard this block of text.)
