My wife and I DO NOT have phones, and are rarely in a cafe or setting where cloud access is required, but at home, we could use it.

Instead of arguing about which restaurant to eat at we argue about opening firewall ports, do we put the one device on the same guest network as the in-laws or its own (more out of fear of what the in-laws bring), who gets to upgrade their machine(s), why she gets a fancier web cam, what am I *really* storing on the NAS, etc.
Of course, the nerdly hobbies is where it gets fun 😁

1. How to get it technically work. Easiest way: recommend my instance. Hopefully he is okay with a ashkenasi diasporic Run instance, whilst a sefardi himself.
2. He is such a humble Person, that he fears the fame.
But maybe I get him to recommend the Fediverse over Facebook.
He discourages Facebook for reasons, you can easily imagine.
Best Arguments for the Fediverse for people, who value decency, privacy, true and deep connection and hate superficial presentation, big Egos and cheap entertainment, but know only commercial social Media so far.
Especially the last point is a very big problem: Commercial Social Media is all, what they know. Facebook, Instagramm, Tiktok, X, WhatsApp. They at least heard of Telegram and Signal and Matrix. Matrix has some Nerd status, the same for Linux. It is deemed nothing for the Masses. When I say I prefer Linux,
