Had the strangest experience setting up this #Friendica account. So, when you create an account you're assigned a password and then encouraged (but not prompted tsk tsk) to change it.
So I hit up that url, copy/paste the password from the email and I'm in. Huzzah! Login info saved to the password manager. Go to change the password... and it fails: 'Login failed', 'password unchanged.' It's copying from the password manager but still failing again and again. I log out and log back in with the password manager. No problem, I'm in. Huzzah! Yet changing passwords fails and so does setting up 2fa. It's the right password to log into the account but the wrong password for the 'current password' field. What's your deal, website?!
I confirm that the password matches the email. Copy from the passwd manager and of course it fails. I'm about ready to toss this laptop into the sea. Know what? This happened to me the last time I tried out Friendica - and I threw that account into the sea. It has only ever happened

This happened to me the last time I tried out Friendica - and I threw that account into the sea. It has only ever happened on Friendica -- and I tried multiple password managers and browsers. So I guess this is life now. No one try to hack me, even though it'd be super easy.
Just kidding, I copied directly from the email and it worked. WHY.
Anyway, I kinda like this place. Thinking about sticking around for a while 😀

If you don't add a title, Friendica sends the post as a Note-type object. Mastodon will show it with only basic text formatting, i.e. no tables, no horizontal lines, no custom typeface, no text size, no colour, numbered lists converted to bullet-point lists.
As for the images, Mastodon will not show any images within the post. It will show the first four as file attachments below the post, and it will completely ignore the rest because it can't handle more then four file attachments. Even this only works because Friendica, like its descendants, sends images both embedded in the the post and as file attachments. Still, Mastodon throws away all attached images except for four.
If you do add a title, Friendica sends the post as an Article-type object by default. (You can configure Friendica to send posts with titles as Note-type objects as well.) But Mastodon currently still refuses to render Article-type objects. Instead, it just shows the title and a link to the original. The reason for this is a somewhat longer story that invol

The reason for this is a somewhat longer story that involves Mastodon, Hubzilla and some headbutting between their creators and then-developers over full HTML rendering.
