Yep, it's basically destroyed sales outside the US.
The plunge in Tesla sales comes amid Musk’s increasing involvement in global politics and rising competition from China.David Swan (The Sydney Morning Herald)

Here’s screenshots of all four photo-based #Piefed communities I’m running.
Now if these posts look familiar, that’s because I’m posting them from #Akkoma and #Pixelfed – and they’re submitted to Piefed by tagging the relevant communities.
This is what I mean when I say that people on #Lemmy are seeing something drastically different from what you’re seeing on #Mastodon.

If America has different allies, are we the same kind of country?
I made a podcast episode discussing exactly this last summer

Well this seems fucking ominous 🤬
Some Google Maps users in Canada are claiming provincial parks have been labelled as “state” parks.“This alarming revelation has stirred many who have noticed, as it is an attack on our Canadian identity,” Rachel Deren wrote to CTV News. “I would like to draw attention to this disgusting display of American oppression of Canadian culture and autonomy.”

Goooooood morning! ☕
It looks like we're in for some pain on this server today but it'll hopefully resolve the uptime problems we've been having. 🤞
If anyone needs me, I'll probably be on Lemmy.
Sup with you?

Dear moss lovers, would you like to share what in moss it is that brings you joy?
For me it is many things, its tiny magnificent beaty, its resilience and patience, how they are tiny little eco systems or forests, how they hold water. How they are ancient in their own way.

I like that moss looks like a whole 'nother world, and it reminds me of all the fantasy woodland stories I read as a kid. Narnia and Artemis Fowl come to mind…what would it be like to shrink myself and galavant all day with tiny forest friends?
Moss reminds me of simpler times and the endless bounds of child imagination. Current me, married with two kids in a hella expensive state with great schools and resources makes me think who the hell is keeping the moss fresh? Is there a union? 🫨
The #crows have started nesting! You can see them all over the place finding the perfect sticks, clumps of soil, and bits of moss and foliage. It's hard work so toss them some peanuts or cheesies.
For most of the year they have a shared roost (in Burnaby) but in the spring they nest in their territories to lay eggs and raise the baby crows. They usually lay eggs in April, which is when they'll start dive bombing people who get too close. If you're ever getting "attacked", just give them some food - crows won't dive bomb their friends.
Once the fledglings have learned to fly and mastered crow basics, they'll all abandon the nest and return to the shared roost at night.

Except I felt bad when they attacked my neighbours

🇺🇦 What #Zelenskyy Has Faced Since 2022:
❌ putin’s allies: Belarus, Iran, North Korea, China
❌ Western delays & blocked aid
❌ Eco & Nuclear threats. Occupied power plants
❌ Shadow oil trade fueling russia
❌ Propaganda from Musk & Carlson
❌ Western companies being "sponsors of war" by paying russian taxes
😡 Now, he faces Trump, who is aligning with putin.

In response to Musk's humiliating demand email, random people are replying to the email address.
Whether or not it's filtering out non-dot-gov addresses I dunno, but
reportedly a LOT of non-federal workers are more than happy to inform DOGE of their doings last week (or ... whatever) to:

Just sayin'. -L

#MarcElias slays #Musk: "I am the great-grandson of a man who led his family out of the shtetl to a strange land in search of a better life. I am the grandson of the three-year-old boy on that journey. As you know, my English name is Marc, but my Hebrew name is Elhanan (אֶלְחָנָן) — after the great warrior in David’s army who slew a powerful giant. I will litigate to defend voting rights until there are no cases left to bring."

Good morning! ☕
Coffee count: 2
This server really took a beating yesterday. We may have had 8 hours of downtime. Yikes! Here's hoping we have a better one today... 🤞
This in now officially the time of year that I have to actively resist starting seeds. It feels like it might not be too early... but it is unless you want crazy leggy plants. But I'm starting my #garden plan today. The plan's to do some succession planting to get some early season, main season, and overwintering crops. Gonna figure out a bunch of cool #tomatoes to grow and I'll need at least one weird #squash. Open to suggestions! 🌱🍅
For #squash, I'm leaning toward growing some Tromboncino. They're super nutty and delicious and look cool. You can grow them on the ground and they'll turn into a fun, twisted mess:
Or you can trellis them and they'll grow straight and up to 6 feet long:
FUN!

Another week goes by with no idea who owns #Bluesky. 🤷
In early January they were supposedly finalizing a huge deal lead by Bain Capital (yes that Bain Capital) valuing the company at $700M.
businessinsider.com/x-competit…
No details on the investors was shared, and since then crickets, no information. 🤔
They have to be running out of money from their earlier $15M Blockchain Capital cryptobro funding round. 🤔
So, who now owns Bluesky?
Was it bought up by some billionaire? We just don't know.
Bluesky is raising new funding led by Bain Capital Ventures that would value the social media company at around $700 million, according to sources.Ben Bergman (Business Insider)
