So, this just came up in my mind, but this is kinda sad to think about; as of 2021, when Embracer bought out Dark Horse, out of all the major comic houses in the US, the only one left who's still independent is Image, as DC is owned by WB/Netflix, Marvel is owned by Disney, and as of 2021, Dark Horse is owned by Embracer.

If any industry needs more indie publishing houses like Image, it's the Western comic industry.

I'm aware things like autofocus on modern cameras or fractal generators are technically a form of AI, but the difference between those and generative AI ala Midjourney, is autofocus augments the thing it's attached to instead of trying to destroy it, and fractal generators always make unique artwork by design, while generative AI is both actively out to destroy everything it touches and also blatantly and openly plagiarizes everyone.

Not to mention it can be used for more sinister, fascist use cases such as rigging elections on top of actively destroying everything it touches and committing blatant and open plagiarism.

I hate generative AI and everything it stands for.
