Polling from the U.K. shows that only 43% of the public now see the U.S. as an ally.

This is compared to the 28% of the British public who see Donald Trump individually as an ally.

Sorry America, it's not you. It's him.

blue fish

Can anyone tell me what the blue fish are?

I can sometimes see them on the bottom of posts alongside likes, upticks, shares, etc.

How does one use them and apply them to a post?

What to do now?

Dear Labour Government...
Top 6 (realistic) policy suggestions:
1. Rejoin the EU single market.
2. Bring in a tiny 2% wealth tax (£24bn)
3. Invest that in NHS, Schools and Rewilding
4. And avoid welfare cuts for the worst off
5. Get growth via investing in green economy (grew 10% last year)
6. End arms sales to Israel - because it’s immoral.

Interestingly, these are the policies of the Green Party. They are NOT policy for Labour, Cons, or Reform. Think of that the next time you vote.

This will make you feel old:

A Labour Party is one that fights against corruption, cruelty and lies while striving for justice, health and the welfare of all.

Trump picks Boeing over Lockheed for fighter jet contract (well that's going to be fine then).

He names the new fighter jet after himself. The Orange Weasel will come into service alongside the F22 Raptor

You've seen this before. I believe it was said in the 50's and showed what the USA aspired to be; inclusive, non-denominational and blind to your skin colour. Although it failed often, the US sought to lead the world by example.

Compare to today's America with its anti-DEI, racist, exclusive, christo-fascists.

Superman would be ashamed.

R.I.P. James Harrison, Australian hero, whose blood contained a rare antibody used to create medication to protect babies from a rare blood disorder. Having the antibody was just luck. What made him a hero was donating plasma every two weeks without missing one appointment for 60+ years. There's power in just reliably showing up for other people who need what only you can give them.

Happened in the UK too. One of the reasons we currently have a Red Tory government is all the people who thought that Starmer was lying about being a #brexshitter

He wasn't.

An interesting decision. I'm curious, though, what amount of damages for breach of contract is attached to it.

Yes final authority is in the President. And apparently upon office they make a statement about what their nuclear policy is and what vital interests mean to them. And apparently Macron says it takes on a "European dimension" for him.

Elon's philanthropy

There's a big story going around about how Musk the philanthropist has given away $112m of Tesla shares to charity. Who would have guessed, that this is a LIE. He simply transferred this money to a shell company - owned by himself.
BUT if it were true, then Musk would like to advertise his philanthropy by giving $112m (of his $408Bn) to charity. That means he pretended to give 0.00027% of his wealth to charity.
WHAT WE LEARN IS THAT THE WORLD'S RICHEST PERSON IS CHEAP!

In Tottenham, London, the PeopleVsElon campaign group walked into a Tesla showroom and placed a cardboard cut-out of Elon Musk doing a Nazi salute next to the cars.

The manager of the Tesla showroom threatened to sue activist India Thorogood if he saw it online. Her response - "But it's just a Roman salute!"

If its only a "salute", whats the problem?

Similarly, Led by donkeys projecting Elons "salute" onto a tesla plant in *germany* was a great move
In order to prosecute, the courts will have to rule on whether it was, or wasnt, a nazi salute

(Or , decide to totally fudge the issue and hope its quietly forgotten, which seems most likely -)

According to a survey by the sociologist Putnam in 1950 just 12pc agreed with the statement “I’m a very important person”. By 1990 it was 80pc. A phenomenal societal change. In lovely piece by ⁦Matthew Syed in Sunday Times.
