The U.S. bipartisan Senate delegation attending the Halifax International Security Forum received a phone call from Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
In it, Rubio was quite frank.
According to Republican Senator Mike Rounds, Rubio told senators that the 28-point peace plan drawn up by Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and his Russian counterpart, Kirill Dmitriev, was actually a Russian plan that the U.S. had agreed to pass along to Ukraine.

I still believe a command is not much use if there is no one to be commanded. It is like a UN Resolution. Perhaps the courts have not yet ruled, or not yet restarted pre-election proceeding?

Very good questions, I'll answer in 2 parts.
1. We have good evidence that Trump broke the constitution on January 6, 2020, when he publicly organized an attack on the Capitol.
But he was re-elected before the gavel dropped, so the prosecution stopped.

Prosecution stopped because the voters were apparently content with Trump's actions during his first presidency. Also, because Trump would soon choose the boss for his own prosecution.
2. Lower courts have "dropped the gavel" on Trump administration; they say he is not following the Constitution. But that means, "Stop what you did, now do your job a different way." not "You go to jail."

Also in history, William V of the Netherlands, on reading the Constitution, was aghast and told John Adams this document gave their Presidents vastly more power than any of the then-current kings of Europe.
So basically all the priors were just nicer people? ICE etc is all cool and normal.

We have good evidence that two previous presidents broke laws. First was Nixon, who resigned to save himself the embarrassment of impeachment, and Reagan (Iran-Contra affair).
Since neither was held accountable, I think they set bad precedents.
Voters think, "If your party can break the law, why can't mine?" or "They only broke the law because it was necessary."

The US Constitution creates a democratic republic, but the majority of voters chose to overturn the constitutional system by accepting a candidate who promised to be a "dictator on day one."
I think we need good evidence that the majority of Americans know what the constitution means, want it back, and will actively support it.

There is one ruling by the Supreme Court that appears to be against Trump.
They instructed Trump to "facilitate the return" of Abrego Garcia, who was sent to prison in El Salvador.
The Trump administration claims they are following the Supreme Court order, because they will accept Garcia back into the US if El Salvador chooses to return him.

And his warning was true. Iwaya, though warned, had to try, but my guess is he was shocked by how deliberately rude and insulting and disrespectful Trump was to waste their time.
Trump insults yet another ally (who has been the largest holder of US Treasuries) without thinking national disrespect and insults have a cost.
That's exactly what happened with Canada.

Earlier I challenged you to find a single example of a tariff as mentioned in the Orange Oaf's chart. It soon became clear that the numbers put forward were NOT tariffs but were in fact a calculation based on trade surplus/deficit. So when the stupid cockwomble said that the EU applied tariffs to the US what he meant was that Americans buy more products from the EU than they sell to the EU. The same applies to practically every country in the world.
There may be many reasons but the main two are Americans products are at best high price/medium quality and secondly, they are for the US market and not useful in other markets. A good example would be American cars.They are poorly made, plasticky and cheap designs, with poor emissions. Hell, the Corvette, America's sports car has the same suspension as a horse and cart. BUT they are quite cheap. Nevertheless, people around the world don't buy them, because they don't even fit on the roads. You try driving an F150 down a country lane.
So the world doesn't buy American cars. But at the same time the biggest market for Toyota and BMW is America. So America buys foreign cars. They are better quality, better emissions and safer. With a few exceptions, the same applies to most American products and this is why you have a trade deficit.
Incidentally, do you think that charging people more for a foreign car with a tariff will change this? Possibly for a small percentage, but the majority will either buy second hand or put off buying.
Let's look at the actual trade imbalances. Take Canada as an example. The US imported $412bn from Canada and exported $349bn. Anyway that's 350m people vs 40m. So the US buys <$1000 per person of Canadian goods whereas the Canadians buy > $10,000 of US goods per person. And the reason that this import figure is so high is that it includes a lot of oil. If there was no oil then Canada may only export a measly $100bn-$200Bn or so.
So what will happen. There is a lot of speculation about the outcome of the Tangerine Tyrant's tariffs. Personally I would guess the next step will be protectionism. Countries will look to strategies that protect them from US policy tantrums. The one thing we have all learned in the last 3 months is that America can no longer be trusted as a partner. That they renege on deals that they have made and they shit on their allies. In such circumstances, I think you will find China and Europe looking to form new alliances.
It is worth pointing out that these fake 'tariffs' are being levied on GOODS AND PRODUCTS. They highlight the fact that the US is not very good or competitive at producing goods and products.
These tariffs DO NOT MENTION SERVICES. These are quietly ignored by the Mango Mussolini. Why? Well services is a trillion dollar business and the US runs a trade surplus of around $250-$270Bn, and he doesn't want anyone negotiating that away.
Having said that, a great deal of American services are provided by the government, for example in terms of research, or the weather, or space, or communications. Imagine the kind of moron you would have to be to close down work in these areas, and the effect it would have on the American service industry. But you don't need a stable genius to understand that.

1. Rejoin the EU single market.
2. Bring in a tiny 2% wealth tax (£24bn)
3. Invest that in NHS, Schools and Rewilding
4. And avoid welfare cuts for the worst off
5. Get growth via investing in green economy (grew 10% last year)
6. End arms sales to Israel - because it’s immoral.
Interestingly, these are the policies of the Green Party. They are NOT policy for Labour, Cons, or Reform. Think of that the next time you vote.
