The screenshot attempts to connect "Minecraft" with the word "pneumonia" as though their appearance together proves causation. This is not how evidence works. The claim commits a false cause fallacy by treating unrelated information as proof of a causal relationship.

More importantly, the exaggerated presentation, sensational wording, and intentionally flawed reasoning are consistent with the satirical style of r/BanVideoGames. The post functions as a parody rather than legitimate medical research.

Therefore, I conclude that the screenshot does not provide evidence that video games cause pneumonia. Instead, it serves as an example of internet satire and absurdist humour.

Fact-checking these claims reveals that they are not recognised definitions in linguistics, sociology, history, civil rights research, anti-discrimination law, or mainstream dictionaries.

"Karen" is a slang term typically used to describe a particular stereotype of entitled behaviour. It is not recognised as an equivalent to the N-word.

"Boomer" is an informal term referring to members of the Baby Boomer generation. While it can be used in a derogatory manner, it is not considered an equivalent to the N-word.

"Retarded" has historically been used as a medical and developmental term, but later became widely recognised as offensive when used as an insult toward people with disabilities. However, it is not generally classified as an equivalent to the N-word.

Most notably, "gamer" is a term describing a person who plays video games. It is not a recognised slur, nor is it a term synonymous with Nazis. The claim that "g*mer" is the "n-word for Nazis" is clearly an example of the exaggerated and absurd humour for which the subreddit is known.

The subreddit's repeated insistence that it is completely serious does not outweigh the overwhelming evidence of satire. In fact, remaining in character and refusing to acknowledge the joke is itself a common technique used in satirical communities.

I came across a post claiming that ChatGPT is "biased" because it recognises r/BanVideoGames as satire.

Evidence-based analysis is not biased. Rejecting evidence because it contradicts a preferred narrative is not critical thinking.

The irony is that the post intended to prove ChatGPT was wrong, yet it ended up providing another example of why the satire interpretation is the most reasonable one.

As an observer of internet culture, I find the entire episode less a demonstration of AI bias and more a demonstration of how committed satire can become indistinguishable from reality to those who want to believe it.

In modern social discourse, I have observed a recurring inconsistency in how ethical standards are applied depending on context.

Certain conduct—particularly relationships involving clear power imbalance, such as between educators and students—is widely recognised as unethical due to concerns about authority, consent, and conflict of interest. This is consistently identified as a serious ethical boundary.

However, when relationships occur between students within academic environments, the discussion often shifts. In some cases, concerns are minimised or dismissed under phrases such as “it’s their personal life” or “let them be happy,” while those who raise questions are sometimes labelled as intrusive.

The concern here is not to equate these two situations, but to highlight a broader issue: ethical standards can become selectively applied depending on social framing rather than principle.

From the perspective of the Single Through College Coalition (STCC), the emphasis is on consistency of principle during the academic period. The core idea is not about judgment of individuals, but about maintaining clarity of expectations so that integrity is not dependent on shifting interpretations.

The central question remains:
Can ethical standards remain consistent across different contexts, or are they adjusted based on convenience, sentiment, or narrative?

Inconsistency in principles—especially when justified through subjective framing—can weaken the meaning of accountability itself. STCC advocates for clarity, alignment, and consistency in how integrity is understood during academic formation.

In society, I have observed how moral judgments are often applied inconsistently depending on context, especially when relationships are involved.

There are situations where relationships involving clear power imbalance—such as between teacher and student or supervisor and subordinate—are widely recognised as unethical due to concerns of authority, consent, and conflict of interest. These are generally treated with seriousness and clear boundaries.

However, in peer-level relationships, particularly between students, the standards are often interpreted differently. In some cases, such relationships are framed as normal, inspirational, or simply private matters. At the same time, those who raise concerns about consistency in ethical standards are sometimes dismissed as intrusive or unnecessary interference.

This raises an important question about coherence in ethical reasoning:

Should ethical standards depend on the type of relationship, or should they be applied consistently based on principles such as power balance, responsibility, and long-term consequences?

From the perspective of the Single Through College Coalition, the focus is not on policing personal lives, but on examining consistency in standards. Integrity loses meaning when similar ethical concerns are treated differently depending on context.

The message is not that all situations are the same, but that ethical frameworks should not contradict themselves. A principle applied in one context should not be ignored in another without clear justification.

Consistency is what gives ethics its meaning. Without it, standards become subjective and open to selective interpretation.

As the calendar turns, I do not greet this new year with joy or celebration. I step into 2026 carrying the weight of a challenging 2025, a year that demanded more than most could understand. The “-ber” months—September, October, November, December—tested my patience, resilience, and principles in ways I never anticipated.

2025 was not a year of comfort. It was a year of difficult choices, of witnessing inconsistencies, of standing firm while others faltered. It reminded me that integrity is often tested when the world expects compromise. Friendships, relationships, and principles were all challenged, and I saw firsthand how relativism threatens fairness, ethics, and personal accountability.

Yet, from this struggle came clarity. I realized the importance of focus, of discipline, and of holding true to one’s values even when others choose otherwise. I saw the difference between those who act with consistency and those who allow circumstances or whims to dictate their actions.

Entering 2026, I do not leave behind 2025 as one would a forgotten memory. I carry it as a lesson, a reminder that the most difficult moments can also forge the strongest character. The year ahead will demand patience, integrity, and courage, just as the past year did. But now, I am better equipped to face it.

Let 2026 not be a year of illusion or comfort, but a year of deliberate action, focus, and principled living. Let us leave behind the distractions, the compromises, and the inconsistencies. Let us honor the lessons of the past by stepping forward with clarity, purpose, and unwavering commitment to what is right.

The three-day rally is expected to highlight the public clamor for a proper and transparent investigation regarding the anomalous flood control projects and other climate-tagged projects where over a trillion pesos were estimated to have been lost due to corruption since 2023.
Iglesia Ni Cristo Spokesperson and Minister of the Gospel Brother Edwil Zabala said even non-members of the Iglesia Ni Cristo are welcome to join the INC rally.
“This November 16-18 rally is not to interfere in politics but to express our sentiment and lend the voice of the Iglesia Ni Cristo to the calls of many of our countrymen condemning the enormous evil involving many government officials,” Zabala said.
“The call of the Iglesia Ni Cristo is part of the citizens’ right to express themselves, which is guaranteed by our Constitution,” he said.
“We are appealing to the government to conduct a just and open investigation of all who are allegedly involved so that the perpetrators will be held accountable and the funds that they have stolen will be returned to the public coffers,“ the INC spokesperson added.
There will be a program during the first day of the rally on November 16. The program proper will begin at 4 p.m. at the Quirino Grandstand.
The expected speakers are ministers of the Iglesia Ni Cristo, but non-INC members whose proposed speeches are in line with the INC’s call are also welcome, Zabala said.
