It feels pretty empty, very much so compared to Facebook, but if you manage to convince a bunch of people at the same time, it might work.
My main issue is performance right now. When I registered yesterday, everything worked miserably slowly. It's gotten MUCH better, but it's just something to keep in mind before jumping the gun with convincing non-technical or non-enthusiastic people to switch.
Thanks! My family is definitely non-tech, just the thought of choosing a server is likely to send them running back to fb.
