I ditched Goodreads four years ago and never once looked back.
I really like StoryGraph - it's simple, clean and refreshingly clutter-free.
And behind it all? The brilliant Nadia Odunayo.

Similarly here.
I'll never understand why one would need sth like Goodreads or Storygraph but the more people leave services by the Bezos fascist, the better.

I've still got my Goodreads Author account and Librarian status, so I can make sure the details for my own books are correct on there. But I don't use it for tracking any more.

Great question!
I love having detailed stats, and StoryGraph does an amazing job with that. It’s also super easy to use and has a clean, clutter-free interface without ads.
If you prefer decentralization and federated with Mastodon-like interactions bookwyrm is a great choice.
But for me, it feels a bit too basic.

I also use BookWyrm. The stolen stuff also goes here.

Those two are keeping track of my reading, I also have a somewhat neglected account on #TheLibraryThing to catalogue what books I own.

They might thought about the idea that people who read would be informed enough to see through that.

I honestly can’t even recall the last time I bought a book (or anything, really) from Amazon—must’ve been years ago
London, where I currently live, has plenty of good secondhand bookshops, and my favorites are Judd Books and Oxfam in Bloomsbury.
For online shopping, I stick with Blackwell’s.

Many have asked the same question.
StoryGraph is not federated, as clearly stated in the article.
In this post (link & photo 👇 ) I explain why I prefer StoryGraph over Bookwyrm.
Ultimately, the choice is yours!

in reply to jjjacq • •Unfortunately, The StoryGraph is (as far as I know) not part of the Fediverse. 😶
Personally, I log my reads
• in a private one-person Telegram group
• via The StoryGraph
• via BookWyrm (which federates)
I wanted some place to log my reads, that could give me recommendations based on previous reads, and I (still) don't have an Amazon account, so I found StoryGraph.
Then I heard about BookWyrm, and got an account there.
And then I dived inte the federated world of Friendica and mastodon (I've been on diaspora* since 2014), and now I log more instead of less, but ... 🤷😬😅

sur bookwyrm, le catalogue a des gros trous mais on peut le faire et c'est un petit plaisir pour peux d'avoir raté une vocation de bibliothécaire.
