Find groups

Hi, is it possible to see which groups exist or at least search for them with a keyword? If I wanted to start a group how would I go about it?

Well, mostly I cannot look into these groups, I think it's because they're on other instances.

On the directory above when clicking "follow" i get only "page not found"

I seems like I am seeing posts in the local community from groups i tried to follow but got "page not found" instead. Does following a group make their posts appear in my local community feed or is it coincidence?
