New article alert! Are tradescantias toxic?

There's a lot of fearmongering about poisonous plants, and usually not a lot of reliable sources. The ONLY documented hazard that's specific to tradescantias is that the sap might cause short-term skin irritation.

Lots more info: tradescantia.uk/article/toxici…

There is a lot of fear mongering in the AI articles, they make it hard to find the real information, but in this case I am for it.

There are way too many people that don't care about the impact of plants on their animals, if it makes the people think about it, it's a bit of a good thing.

See my other response for the why I personnaly keep my tradescantia in terrariums and away from my herbivore cats (jk)

#Topology is a branch of mathematics that studies the properties of shapes and spaces that are preserved under continuous deformations, such as stretching, twisting, crumpling, and bending.

It's sometimes called "rubber-sheet geometry" because you can imagine the shapes being made of a very flexible material that can be manipulated without tearing or gluing.

Fiji White-eye

A small, mostly citrine-yellow bird with a pale buffy-gray belly, a bold white eye-ring, and a black line from eye to bill. Bill dark. Most common in heavily forested areas. Silvereye is similar but has gray back and peachy cinnamon underside and prefers open habitats. Common calls include a very high-pitched “seee” and “seeu-seeu.

I read that some of the original Savoyards actually performed in Merrie England. As I was watching this version, one of the songs caught my attention, and I knew I heard it, and I could have sworn it was by one of them! So I opened my Savoyards folder, and sure enough, it was there! By the way, several other recordings of Passmore exist on Youtube.

I guess the corollary of operating on a relatively shoe-string budget is that you don't have a lot of security reviews before putting the thing into production?

From the blog:

"As DeepSeek made waves in the AI space, the Wiz Research team set out to assess its external security posture and identify any potential vulnerabilities. Within minutes, we found a publicly accessible ClickHouse database linked to DeepSeek, completely open and unauthenticated, exposing sensitive data. This database contained a significant volume of chat history, backend data and sensitive information, including log streams, API Secrets, and operational details. More critically, the exposure allowed for full database control and potential privilege escalation within the DeepSeek environment, without any authentication or defense mechanism to the outside world."

This sweet girl had another seizure.
The various executive orders have frozen most work and I am essentially jobless for time being as research is on hold.

Everything together means I could use some cash, if I can make just $100-$200 more it would be really helpful. I recently shared a bunch of photography prints I have in stock for sale - it's older stock. Check my feed, or replies on (post link: flipping.rocks/@sunguramy/1139… )Take a peek!

I can also drop ship anything you like (can always check my website: sunguramy.com ) 8x10 / 9x12's $40 + ship ($10 to US, more to outside US).

Yay!!! I didn't realise this! Friendica.world has content filters enabled! This is fantastic! Now, I can add the political and other annoying words to it, and, with luck, I won't see such posts again!

I'm sure I'm not the only one here who has had enough of the politics. So let's start something where we can get away from them. Just write #NoPolitics (capital n, capital p for my blind friends), and either place it somewhere in your profile to indicate that you will rarely, if ever, post about them so that those of us who want to avoid them can follow you, or add to the fun by posting something light-hearted and enjoyable. It can be anything, as long as it's not turned into something political.

Ironically, you've connected to me first. My channel has only got two topics. The primary topic is a certain kind of 3-D virtual worlds, the secondary topic is the Fediverse beyond Mastodon, although this may include accessibility topics. Since this is not my personal, all-round channel, I don't post about anything else.

I'm working on a series of posts that will touch male fashion. But they'll touch male fashion in the above-mentioned virtual worlds, I'll post them on a dedicated (streams) channel, and this Hubzilla channel will only forward them. Also, expect each one to have both a summary and a spoiler tag for those who are easily triggered by even the slightest eye contact.

in reply to Jupiter Rowland

@Jupiter Rowland I'm actually interested in the Fediverse beyond Mastodon. That's not what I meant by constantly posting about technology. I would also love to experience a virtual world, but I don't know of any that are accessible. That said, many other games are, both text-based and audio, and now, some mainstream ones as well.

Cooking #compost. I turned the pile on Sunday and today it reached 130°F, supposedly the lowest ideal temperature for efficient decomposition and to kill weed seeds and soil pathogens.

Heat from composting can be harvested as renewable, sustainable energy. I get really frustrated by the sheer number of #EnvironmentalSolutions ppl have come up with that just aren’t implemented. Imagine a world where we use our food scraps to grow more food AND generate clean energy.

I just uninstalled Pachli. It's still showing me things from October and November. I was able to use up arrow to get through some of them quickly, but now, that's not working and I would have to go through message, after message, after message, after message. Yes, it's annoying, and I can't even find Settings to see if I can change it. I could keep uninstalling and reinstalling it every time I needed to use it, in the hopes that it would start fresh each time, but that does seem ridiculous.

While I do 99% of everything using Windows, I decided to try Raccoon for Friendica for Android, since I was curious about it. I was able to go through the settings, though a few things just said "unlabelled". However, this is one of those apps that won't accept input from a real keyboard. So I couldn't even sign in! It had an instance as an example, but Talkback read it as actual text in the edit field, and when I tried to write my own instance, nothing happened. I also couldn't delete their example. So right now, Raccoon fails in accessibility. However, it is relatively new, so perhaps, this will change in the near future.
