It is Friday night at the bitches' kitchen, and there is a new toy that is shaped like a very skinny slice of watermelon, complete with a smiling face! It's basically like half a frisbee with a squeaker in it.

@Starry1086 It's actually a model of the galaxy, the planets and other things are stuck to the sky part with Velcro so you can move them around. It's really cool and a friend found it at a thrift store for me.

If you love cozy fantasy-- think "Legends and Lattes" you should check out "Legends and Librarians" by Pandora Pierce. It's on Kindle and you can get it free if you have KU. I actually got it because the title reminded me of "Legends and Lattes" and I love that series so much. Anyway it's about a sentient library with abandonment issues and where the characters and books actually come to life. It's really neat and it's very cute and cozy and sweet. I love it!

Thanks! My parents are "OK". Dad is dealing with symptoms of PTSD, mum is badly bruised. The biker *should* be able to recover, according to the last news that the cops shared with my mum. Which we are really hoping for.
But the stress, anxiety, fear and sadness will stick around for some time to come, I am afraid.

Moments like these, I just wished that my hands (and at the moment this damn tennis elbow that I can't get rid off) would be better.
I've been active for 20 minutes with the dusting. The TV cabinet and consoles, the coffee table, the shelf over the TV, the bookshelves that hold my games and knick-knacks.
It's definitely not perfect. And I should do the purple shelf, but I don't trust my hands with the little elephant statues at the moment. ๐
But... 20 minutes of dusting, so some parts are a bit better now...
Part of me just wants to chill on the couch. Part wants to ride the home trainer. So... I will head up for a short ride. Then some relaxing, before I'll fix some food...
I hear Arwen snoring, and part of me wishes that I could join her...

Worked on my blog, I know I need to get some exercise in, and I know I need to clean the living room a bit.
But, at this moment, my eyes hurt some from being rather tired. And my muscles are sore too. So, I will need to do what's wisest, and not what I would want to do most.
I'll relax a bit on the couch with some telly, and when my eyes are a bit better again, I will dust the room with the telly on. Dusting also means I get to move a bit, right? So that should count for some exercise? ๐
Anywhoo, let's save my blog post and relax my body a bit. It doesn't help that I need to sit very careful on my broken chair. I can't wait till I can go to Ikea with my mum to get a new chair...

Here I am, this is me... I is back!
Just answered most of my socials. And now getting ready to get some exercises done. My muscles are still sore, but I'll see what I can do...
I guess this morning I'll stress about cleaning. I've not been cleaning since before my bday due to some very valid reasons. But with friends coming over, I do feel bad that the place is a tad messy. So, I guess my AuDHD will push me to getting some stuff done while I can.
Yesterday I heard that I could pick up Arwen's meds, so I'll do that first thing this morning when they open... Finally, as I'm out of pills now...
Hope that you all are having a good time! It's almost weekend folks!!

Y'all, it's been a day! Tomorrow I'm hoping to take Phoenix over to Oak street and sit in my favorite coffee shop drinking ridiculous quantities of their pear iced tea while writing final invoices for the 2024-2025 school year. Then take myself to the salon to fix my hands and feet. Then the packing needs to begin in earnest this weekend along with soap and candle making. My final day in the classroom for the semester is Thursday after which I depart for Chicago on the train. Whew!

@bcpaws4ever I'm not sure I haven't arrived there yet lol I'm meeting some friends there and we are going to stay in a hotel and just hang out and eat the food and I have no idea mostly just hang out! I am taking the sleeper car on the train though to get there which is also part of the adventure. I'm looking forward to that. It should be interesting. I've never done it before and I always wanted to try. I'm flying home though because I'm not that much of a glutton for punishment.
Having fun then - very cool. I've wanted to do their west coast trek from here to San Diego since I got Thane but I think that'd be spendy needing a cabin so I never pursued it. Do share your train adventures
What color you gonna go for? Self care is wonderful. Got my hair cut earlier this week and treated myself to an Italian restaurant I don't get to go to much. Was amazing

Ok, that was a great appointment. I feel like I'v spent the last 3 years in the clinic feeling like shit so it was cool to walk in there today and just be like, you know, I feel like we've hit on the right combo of meds and physical activity and I'm making forward progress, not hanging on trying to survive like I have been. My dr is moving so that sucks because he's great. He said he'd pick his replacement and I said don't pick an asshole. I told him about NYC and it was just very positive!

@Sobieck Yeah it is. But his heart is in Alabama so I get that. I know the head of pulmonology at this hospital and he's going to help pick my new person and he will make sure they're great.
Random memory.
Buying Rise of the Triad for my PC. Got home.. It refused to run stating there wasn't enough memory. No matter what configuring I tried the game refused. Remember MemMaker? That couldn't help either.
My friend found a work around as he was having the same problems. Run it through Windows 3.1 and take advantage of the virtual swap file. The game ran but waiting for it to load with the swap file took AGES!
I think it ran normally when I upgraded my memory to 8mb. ๐

Upgrading my CPU, the manual said my motherboard needed to be changed, (jumper setting?)
The motherboard was missing it and just had a wire across the points.
I phoned the company support and asked would cutting this wire be the same as changing whatever was missing. They said yes
I cut the wire and the motherboard never worked again. My cousin's electrician friend checked and couldn't figure out what had happened. One new motherboard please.

Usually Phoenix goes with me to hospital appointments because she really thrives and is at her best in these kind of huge indoor spaces. However phoenix was with me yesterday and in 8 days we're getting on a train bound for Chicago so I thought it was only fair to take Callisto. Working Phoenix is like driving a 4 door Mercedes sedan. Classy, safe, stylish... but it's not going to win any races. (1/3)

Working Callisto is like being driven around in a Lamborghini by a Meth addict who hasn't slept in 3 days.... OK one with really, really good judgement... but still... If she thinks it's safe she is going to clock out at over 4 miles per hour. If she needs to stop, she stops, there is no gentle slowing down, there is no hesitation. We're moving and then we aren't. Some how she has found a way to do this which doesn't cause me to lose my balance. (2/3)

I have an overwhelming craving for Asian food. (Thai, maybe? But weโll see which specific cuisine appeals to me once I get around to it).
