Loads of snaps and some vids this week… 🤩 Monday was a holiday here in the Netherlands (Bevrijdingsdag). Arwen and I went to the woods that morning so get some splashes and sniffs in. Well, Arwen got them, not me… 😉 Tuesday was a relaxing day, where I had my PT. Wednesday, we went to the Herperduin again, even though I was feeling a tad tired. Thursday, we went to Germany again for the groceries. Friday, Arwen had some splashes at the Herperduin in the morning, and then I had some fun at the Zoo. Saturday I did loads of chores to prepare the house for my birthday. Sunday started well, I even got some garden work done. Sunday ended horribly, as my parents had a terrible accident on their way back home after visiting me… 😭

A mixed week, weather wise, although no rain is forecast… Some warmer days, not too hot, but also not too sunny, unfortunately…

Monday

I woke up about 80 minutes before the alarm was set to go off. Went to the loo and tried to sleep some more. But I got into a weird dream and then I thought I heard Arwen. So twenty minutes later, I got up and started my day. Or night… 😉 Gave Arwen her meds, had a date with the scale (who was a bit nicer now), and got dressed. I took Arwen out to do her thing, and then I took my own meds. After some time waiting, I could give Arwen her food, and I grabbed my bag and headed to Skoosh.

Got to the gym, checked my social media, and enjoyed my protein shake. Rode the seated bike for half an hour. Then I enjoyed a massage in the chair. After that, I switched my shoes and headed back to Arwen.

Washed up, changed clothes, had brekky. We headed out for SniffiVerse™ walkies, and it was a bit chillier than I thought (I had not checked the temps, to be honest). But once Arwen had a little less sniffs, I could keep walking more, and I got a bit warmer. We walked the shorter round. Arwen wasn’t sure, so I helped her to decide, as I knew I’d be taking her to the Herperduin later again.

When we got back, I got my laptop and I worked on my blog. When I was done, I headed to the bathroom for a proper shower. It was sheep shearing day, so the wool needed to be clean to handle. I got a bit distracted in the bathroom after the shower, and I ended up cleaning a part of the bathroom… Guess that’s done! 😂 Then I changed clothes and I hit the treadmill for half an hour. Just a slow pace with a wee bit of an incline. But it felt good.

Arwen and I relaxed a bit on the couch, until it was time, and we could head to the Herperduin. We had a lovely walk, and Arwen got all the sniffs and splashes.

When we got back, I got some white paint and I touched up the areas that were bugging me. The last bit of paint, I used in the stairwell, as it’s not been painted yet, so every little bit I can do will look better. 😊 When the cup of paint was empty, I cleaned up. I had a wee bit of time to relax and eat, before then Arwen wanted walkies again.

When we were almost home, we saw the neighbor. So, of course, we needed an extra round, as Arwen desperately needed her snacks. 😂

I had some time to relax and then it was time to head to Nijmegen. Mum and I walked to the small woods with the dogs and they had a nice time. Then I helped mum with a chore and I brushed Arwen a bit, as there was so much loose hair on her!

After the hairdresser came, Arwen and I headed back home again. The neighbor and her dog were waiting for us as we came up, so I got my bag in the hallway, and we headed out. A wee bit of relaxing after that. Arwen had a wee, and then we headed to bed. It didn’t take too long for me to fall asleep.

When I woke, about an hour before the alarm, my muscles were sore and told me to get up. So… I did and I started my day/night.

Tuesday

I woke up about an hour before the alarm was set to go off. Got Arwen her meds, and then I got to the scale. Weight went down a wee bit again, and I seem to be back to my “usual” weight now. I got dressed, let Arwen out, and took my meds. Checked up on some social media, till it was time to feed Arwen. When she was eating happily, I put out the snacks, and grabbed my bag. On my way to the gym!

I had several messages from a very sweet friend, so I tried to catch up with those as I enjoyed my protein shake. I got to the seated bike for about twenty minutes. Then I did 5 on the cross-trainer. My body was sore and it wasn’t having any more. So I enjoyed a massage in the chair before I got ready to head back home again.

Washed up, changed clothes, had brekky. As it was a colder night with some wind, I was smart this time, and I got my warmer jacket. 😊 Arwen wanted the shorter walk, which was OK with me. When we got back, I switched my clothes again, and I got to the treadmill for an hour. My aim was half an hour, so I was really pleased that I managed to walk for a whole hour. 😊

While I was walking, I was using AI to create some alt texts for older images that I uploaded to my Flickr in the past. I have no idea if anyone will ever see the Alt texts, but it feels good to make some of my images more accessible. But yeah, even with AI helping, it’s still a lot of work to get the texts to the images in Flickr. But, it was a good distraction, as I did manage to walk for an hour. 😊

I washed up again, changed clothes, and headed to the couch for some relaxing. I was rather tired, but unfortunately, my brain was too active to let me really relax.

I walked a short walk with Arwen. Then I was playing a game when my bestie called me. The school vacation was over and she had to work again. We had a nice chat till she arrived at her work. I played the game some more, and then I got ready to walk to the supermarket for some groceries.

Unfortunately, they didn’t have all that I wanted to get… Which was a bit of a bummer. When I got back, I had some food and I walked Arwen again. After that, there was a wee bit of time to game some more, until it was time to get ready to head to Cuijk.

After Arwen had her meal and a short walk, I got my bags and I headed to Cuijk. A quick stop for a quick shower for Skoosh. The construction work had made her brown instead of white. I knew that washing her properly would not help much yet, as the construction work is still going on. But a rinse would protect the paint some, as there was so much sand and dust on her. When I aimed the pressure thingie on her, and water hit her, she was dripping with brown water! Iiiieeeeeuuuuwwww so gross! She wasn’t all sparkling after a quick rinse, but it definitely was an improvement. As long as it will last…. 🤔

I went to the PT and waited till it was my turn. My physio was running a bit late, so I was getting a bit stressed, as I also had to visit Lidl after the session, and I needed to be back in time for walkies… The session was good, albeit a bit painful due to my bad elbow. Then, I got my groceries, and I headed back home again.

I just had time to clean up the things, as Arwen was very eager for walkies. We had a nice walk with N&B, and the weather wasn’t too bad. When we got back, I relaxed a bit with some telly until it was time to get ready for bed.

Arwen went out for a wee and then it was sleepies time. It didn’t take too long before I dozed off. I woke up around 21 for the loo, and then I snoozed again until about 3 minutes before the alarm was set to go off.

So, I got up and started my day/night.

Hump day / Wednesday

I woke up around 21 for the loo. I decided to head back to bed, and I woke up again, just three minutes before the alarm was set to go off. I quickly gave Arwen her meds, and I used the scale before I got dressed. I took Arwen outside for her things. Then I took my own meds, and I played a little on social media, until I could feed Arwen. When she was happily eating, I got my bag, put out the snacks, and headed to Skoosh.

I checked my socials some more while I was enjoying my protein shake. Then, I rode the seated bike for half an hour. It was less busy at the weights section, so I managed to do two light weight shoulder exercises. Yay me! Then I switched my shoes and got ready to head back home again

And, while I had rather been on the couch, seeing Arwen enjoy herself so much, it made it all worth it! 🥰 On the way back, I tried to edit a silly little video, so Arwen could have all the sniffs without me being too annoyed by that… 😇

Arwen and I went out for walkies, and she was bummed, as we didn’t see the neighbor. Then, I changed clothes and I rode the home trainer for half an hour. Followed by some gaming. I finished the storyline of Lost Records. It wasn’t all what I expected, but it wasn’t too bad for sure. Now, I’ll need a guide to get some of the other endings and all, and I need some collectibles, so that I can get more of the achievements.

Around 11, we went for another walk. This time, we did see the neighbor, but she didn’t have snacks, so Arwen was disappointed 😂. Poor girl never gets anything! 😂

I watched some telly till the PC arrived. When I carried it upstairs, N&B came for walkies. So we got ready, and we had a nice walk.

When we got back, I unpacked the PC, and tried to add the things from my old PC. The firewire card was no issue. The hard drives were… I could not find the cables that I needed… 😔 And the ones I did find, they weren’t long enough… Maybe there is still a way to connect them, maybe there isn’t… 😔 Bummer!

I let Arwen out for a final wee, and then we went to sleep. It didn’t take too long to doze off. I woke once for the loo, and then again, about 45 minutes before the alarm was set to go off. So… I gave Arwen her meds and I started my day/night.

Thursday

I woke up about half an hour to the alarm. I had woken up twice during my night, once because the neighbor’s dog was barking loads again, and once for the loo. I didn’t feel too bad when I got up, which was nice. I gave Arwen her meds, got to the scale, got dressed, let Arwen out to do her things, got my meds… And then we waited a bit until Arwen could get her food. When she was happily eating, I put out the snacks, and I headed to Skoosh.

I got to the gym, and I enjoyed my protein shake while I was browsing social media. Then I got to the seated bike. I rode for almost half an hour. Then, I headed to the strength machines and I managed one rowing exercise. It was hard on my elbow, but still also felt good to do. 😊 Then I used the massage chair before I got ready to head back home again.

I booted the PC and everything seemed to work. So, the installation process started. Yes to this, no to that, enter this, confirm that… Then I got ready to install some of the software that I wanted to use. I preferred to use Pinnacle 14 as that’s the one that was most stable and that’s the one I knew best… But… I could not find it, only Pinnacle 16. So, I installed that. And then… I found out that it didn’t run on this PC, it was too old. I need an upgrade, but upgrades need money (which I also need… Ugh…).

I had forgotten that the PC chair had died several days before the PC did, so when I leaned forward, the seat came loose and it launched me towards the ground…. More things I need money for, as I do need a new and decent chair… But this month, I also need to renew my PS+, so I hope that next month, I’ll maybe be able to get the chair? 🤔 Ah well, best find a way to temporarily fix it… Duck tape (I know it’s duct tape, it when I was growing up, watching MacGuyver, I always thought they talked about duck 🦆 tape 😂) or something may attach the seat some? 🤔

Then I fixed some food before I got the things ready for the trip to Nijmegen. I used the little cans to fill Skoosh some, and I walked Arwen. Then we headed to my parent’s place. I helped mum with her compression stockings, which went rather well, yay! Then we headed towards Germany. It was way less busy than last week, yay for that! 😁 We got what we needed and headed back home via Appie. I helped mum with her groceries and then, when she had enjoyed her coffee, we walked the dogs.

We had a nice walk, but the neighborhood is so dusty and messy… And they won’t be done for quite some time to come… Ah well…

Friday

I woke before the alarm was set to go off. I gave Arwen her meds and got dressed. Let Arwen out for a wee, and then took my own meds. Played a bit on my phone till it was time and I could feed Arwen. After that, I got my bag and headed to Skoosh.

When we got back, I tried to fix my PC chair seat a bit by attaching some duct tape to it… It will not hold it all the way I fear, but it should make sure that I won’t tip over so easily when I lean too far… It’s not ideal, but it is as it is… 😊 I worked on my PC a bit, added some software and worked on my blog. It was nice to use a PC again.

Then, more folks started coming in, some accompanied by their smaller, louder, versions… So around 10:30, I headed back to Skoosh. Saturday

I woke way too early! I had a horrible nightmare, where I woke up in such a fright and with my heart pounding in my throat… I just had to get up and be gone from those thoughts! I wanted to use the scale, but it had logged me out and it didn’t allow me to login again. Aaah the times where a scale didn’t need a login 😂. I gave Arwen her meds, we walked a short round, and then I took my own meds. When it was time to feed Arwen, I did that… Got my bag and headed to Skoosh, as Arwen was happily eating.

There were too many to get them all done now. But I think I made a good start. Even just sitting and clicking made me rather tired. So… I headed back down, and I relaxed on the couch.

Which lasted less than half an hour, as my brain was so active with all that I still had to do today to prep for Sunday! I did my best with some dusting. I made a start on some of the windows. Then, I walked a short walk with Arwen. I worked on some more windows, until my hands didn’t approve anymore. But they needed to do more…. I got the weeds cloth and did my best to cover up Arwen’s corner… Then, I got the hoover out and after that, I mopped the floor as best as I could. There was sweat 😅 everywhere! Pffff I was soooo tired…

So, of course, when I washed up, I started the laundry… And then I walked to the store to get some things for my parents’ visit tomorrow.

When I got back, I was dead! But, the laundry needed to be hung… After that, I had about 30 minutes to rest, and then Arwen wanted walkies again…. We saw the neighbor, so of course we had to join them. But her dog wanted a longer walk, so well, we had to go along… 😂 Arwen got to a very grey muddy puddle so… Of course she jumped in! Thanks… I just cleaned the floors… 😇

After that, I crashed on the couch with some telly. A sweet friend came online and we tried to play a game together. But… Microsoft was being an ass and it wouldn’t let me login to the updated Minecraft account… It took me over 30 minutes, and also some frustrating words, until I finally logged in again! So when everything was finally set up, we had about half an hour to play together. 😂

Then I got ready for walkies with N&B. We had a nice walk. It was warm, but the wind was a wee bit chilly when we were in the shade. Some relaxing after the walk, and then a last wee for Arwen before we headed to bed.

Washed up, changed clothes, and had my brekky. Arwen’s hind leg seemed very stiff and she was dragging it a bit. So I tried to check it and I was allowed to make the movements with it. So either the arthritis is getting worse, or she made a wrong movement and she hurt herself that way… So, after brekky, we went for a different walk, a bit shorter one.

When we got back, I headed to my PC. And… There was no Wi-Fi? I tried connecting the cable and internet came and went. I tried to check for maintenance or service messages and I could not find anything. So, in the end, I just used my phone as a hotspot to get the PC to the web.

I worked on my blog a bit. And I added some more alt texts to the Zoo snaps. Then, I headed back down. I walked the treadmill for half an hour, to get some steps in. After that, I walked a short walk with Arwen. I fixed some food, and after that, I went to the front garden and I started on the weeds again…

I had just started and then the neighbor and her dog came around the corner. So, Arwen forgot about her sore leg, and she wanted another walkies… After that one, I finally was able to work in the garden some… I did my best and it did look a lot better when I was done. Well, I wasn’t done, but my body had enough…

I washed up, changed clothes again, and relaxed a bit. Took my chair out in the garden and I read a bit, until Arwen wanted walkies. We saw the neighbor again, and this time, she had some nomnoms, so Arwen was really pleased. 😊

When we got back, I got back to the garden, and I read till my parents and their Wiener Bas arrived. We had a nice visit and after about two hours, they headed back home.

I had just settled on the couch for some relaxing, and then mum called. Hmm… Weird! It was hard to make out what she was saying at first. But then I understood that they’d been in a terrible accident! 😵 If I could pick up Bas, as he was stuck in the back of the hot car in all the glass.

I drove there, not prepared for what I would find. And… It was bad! Their car was all smashed up and there was motor next to it, standing upside down. The motorist was being looked after and the medi-chopper just landed as I was there.

There was a super sweet woman taking care of my parents! She was just a bystander, but she was so calm and kind. I got Bas free and shook the glass off him. I got him to my car, and then the police helped me to back out and drive home again.

Even just seeing that all put me in a state of shock… I went to the neighbor and I talked with her about it. Which really helped me, so I’m very grateful for that… Then, I walked the dogs and I fed Basje. When we just got back, mum texted, saying that they were allowed to head home. If I could pick them up please…

The motorist had been taken to the hospital in an ambulance. So it was just very messy and busy there, as they were doing all sorts of tests and measurements. It was bad… Article on the accident by De Gelderlander

I had to take the long way home, as the highway was blocked off due to the car and motor being there. My mum and dad were a bit hazy as to how it all happened… Which definitely was the shock. I helped mum at home to get most of the glass off her. It was everywhere! When they told me I could not do anything for them anymore, I headed back home.

I was so tired and overwhelmed. Bestie called me on the way back, and the talk really helped me…

Back home, I let Arwen out and then I got ready for bed. I was so tired, but my body was do sore due to the stress and anxiety… 😢

It took a while to fall asleep. Then, I woke for the loo, and I was able to sleep some more. I didn’t feel too rested when I woke again, but I did feel a little less anxiety in my body… This is definitely a birthday I’ll never forget, but unfortunately, not in a good way… 😔

I’m so grateful to the lady who stayed with my parents and assured me that they were being looked after properly. I’m hoping with all my might that the motorist will be able to make a good recovery. I’m grateful to everyone who reached out and helped me deal with my anxiety!! 💜 And so it began… My new trip around the sun…
