Hide the food, cause I'm back! well, I did snack too much yesterday, as the scale wondered if it were really me due to the weight change. But I also had IBS issues, so that may have caused some of the extra weight as well... 🫣 Sorry, TMI...

I had a good sleep! I fell asleep rather quickly and then I woke again, about half an hour before the alarm was set to go off. I really had to go, but yeah, I had a long sleep and I felt reasonably good, so that's a good start. 😊

I got emails that my parcels had been delivered at my neighbors two doors down. So that means I can pick up the vinyls later today and give them a spin! Yay... Otherwise I would have had to wait quite a few days, as this Monday is a holiday in the Netherlands, so no parcels then. So I'm very glad that my neighbors were able to accept them. I've tried it with my neighbors 5 doors down, but the delivery service things that's too far away... (cause the houses are just around the corner, it's less than 50 meters I guess and they always pass both the houses, as thetes no other roads in between, but still, they won't deliver there... 🤔). So yay for the other neighbors being home. 😊

I still feel bad about ordering the vinyls while I have to find a way to pay for Arwen's pills in two weeks... But my friend said I needed to get something for me, as I deserved that... Still hope I can make ends meet to find a way to pay for the pills in 1½ weeks, as they're quite expensive. 😔 Ugh... But they help her so well... I hope I can make things work, otherwise I may need to check my saving coupons but I don't think I've been able to save too much since I used them for her shot... She needs the pills after my bday, so maybe I'll get enough prezzies that it may cover some of the costs? 😔

But on the other hand, dad is helping me get a new PC! The laptop does it's best, but it's older than Arwen and it's struggling. Plus I am struggling as I don't know Linux well enough... The pc will need Windows for my old video editing software... But maybe some people can help me to make it a double boot, so I can learn more about Linux on it then as well. I will order the pc this morning, so hopefully I can get it somewhere next week... 🤞🏻 It's a very simple gaming pc, but I don't game on my pc too much, and my video editing was working OK on the old pc, so it should be OK on this new one as well. I've seen some awesome beasts on the website, but no money for that. This is a good one as well, or it should be, for what I want to do with it... I have a stand alone Blu-ray burner, so with windows, that will run as well, so I can use it to play disc's and to backup stuff... Can't wait to order it... 😊
I will add the specs (from the Dutch site). I know things could be way better. But within the funds and what I need... I'm very grateful to be getting this! I'll let altbot help me as this is a bit hard for me to describe.

#Journal of a slightly overeating Dutch Pixy (Saturday, 03/05/2025).

I woke about half an hour before my alarm was set to go off. Got Arwen her meds and then used the scale. Got dressed, let Arwen out, took my own meds, and then we waited until I was able to give Arwen her meal. When she was happily eating, I put out the snacks and I grabbed my bag.

At the gym, I checked my socials and then I got to the seated bike. I rode for 25 minutes and then I headed to the cross-trainer for 5. After a massage in the chair, I got ready to head back home again.

Washed up and changed clothes. Enjoyed my brekky and then Arwen and I got ready for walkies. It was a warmer night, and it was dry. There was even a bit of moon visible tonight.

Arwen was in doubt about the length of the walk. But as I was planning a walk at the Herperduin with her, I decided on the short walk. She was a bit disappointed, but I thought that she would enjoy the Herperduin more than a longer walk now...

When we got back, I headed upstairs. I rode the home trainer for 20 minutes. It was warm upstairs... And I did several exercises as well. Then I got back down and I grabbed the laptop. I worked on my blog a little. I found a PC that should be good for what I need it for, and that was almost within dad's budget... So I shared the link with him and then I relaxed on the couch some with a bit of telly.

At some point, Arwen indicated that she wanted to get out for a bit. So we walked a short walk together. Then some more relaxing, till it was getting light outside. We headed to Skoosh and got to the Herperduin. We were a bit earlier, but that did mean that we didn't see anyone, and we had a relaxing walk... Arwen played a bit with her ball, and had all the sniffs...

When we got back, I fixed some food. I started the washing machine and when that was done, I hung the laundry out to dry. I hoovered the downstairs area best as my hands and elbow would allow me. Then a wee bit of relaxing until Arwen wanted a walk again.

After the walkies, where Arwen was lucky as she ran into the neighbor and her dog, we relaxed a bit. I booted up the purple beast and got online with a sweet friend. We both played our own games while we chatted along. 😊

Then it was time to go offline and get ready for walkies. We had a nice walk again with N&B. I asked one of my other neighbors if they were home, as I was expecting a parcel, but of course they set it to an evening delivery again... Fortunately, they were home and I could ask the service to deliver it at their place.

One last wee for Arwen and then we got ready for bed. I quickly fell asleep, and didn't wake till about half an hour before the alarm was set to go off. Wow! The scale was angry with me... Ugh... Stupid snacking... 😢 So I gave Arwen her meds and I started my day/night.

Diary of an AuDHD Squirrel. Day 553 , Saturday 03/05/2025

Saturday started at around 7am when I went downstairs & got breakfast.

Did a couple of chores & then finished ‘Waterloo’ by Bernard Cornwell. I can throughly recommend this for those, like me, who are ‘casual’ historians. Those that like to have a grasp of our history without actually putting in the hours on reading much weightier tomes.
The take away seems to be that Wellington had a fair degree of luck in the run up to the battle & Napoleon had a couple of right muppets working for him in his leadership chain.
That said one cannot but admire the strategies & tactics of the 2 foremost generals of their time!

Gave the coffee machine its regular deep clean - I cheated a little bit & wiped one of the key components rather than washing it, thus saving having to dismantle it further to dry & re-grease it.

Also went wild & hovered the lounge & the hall & the stairs - to misappropriate the quote from LoTR ‘some of those dust mites were my friends!’ 😆

Had doner calzone left overs for lunch - yummy!

Spent the afternoon catching u[ on Mrs S’s cop shows & then we had the 2 instalment of our Indiana Jones fest - ‘Temple of Doom’. I didn’t really get on with this movie the first time I saw it but it is growing on me - it’s weird to have seen Ke Huy Quan the actor who plays ‘Short Round’ be reunited with Harrison Ford the other year!
Also being really quite interested in natural history I’m calling foul on calling the bats flying in the jungle ‘giant vampire bats’! They’re fruit bats!

Overall a good day, not too many triggers & some nice, if naughty, food to help cheer me up.
Also had a few good chats on here today.

Good morning Fellow Travellers on Spaceship Earth 🌍 I am up early with the parrots today and have just finished the morning session with Ziggy, who is in fine form today, grabbing my phone and "frowing it to the fwoor" and then announcing proudly that she is a "Good Boo Boo", eating up her baby food and shaking her head so that my top is now speckled with purple dots, and laughing away to herself and setting Jadie off so that we all end up "laughs" together 🙂 I know I've said it before, but I love that little bird something fierce ❤️

I just realised today that it is May (🤦‍♀️), which means I will soon be celebrating another successful trip around the Sun, and that means it's time for another competition! I'll be posting that this morning.

Gaming day for me today. I'm really into BG3 now and having a whale of a time. I'm really glad I decided to restart it.

A woman (30s?) and a tiny human (2?) are dancing with tremendous glee as a nearby busker plays a soaring guitar solo.
Seagulls are congregating to watch. Are there chips here? No? Will dancing lead to chips? Better wait and see, just in case.

A young human (8?) is treating a park bench as a parkour obstacle. LEAPING onto it, running along and then JUMPING off, his face red, expression triumphant.
Did anyone notice?
Yep.
People are watching.
Good. Okay.
His jaw jutting out, he races towards the next bench. He has ALL the skills.

Two young humans (8?) are jumping up and down on some springy matting placed around the base of a huge shady tree in the centre of town. They're seeing how high they can get. Arms whirling for balance. Giggle-drunk on fun.

A small human (4?) runs excitedly to a tractor ride at the shops. Mum says, "It's broken matey."
Small Human looks pugnacious. With scientific certainty he says: "No! You put money in and it works. I'll show you!" Mum has no choice but to produce a coin.
Scientific observation is victorious!

An American tourist is walking around a gallery with a distant smile. The gallery owner asks if she needs help. She says: "No, I'm just filling my cup before I fly home."
He says: "You must be looking forward to that."
She shakes her head emphatically: "No! I want to stay here forever!"
