Unable to Add Certain Contacts to Circles

@Friendica Support @support@forum.friendi.ca

Apologies for posting about this again, but I didn't see any replies and was hoping someone might have an idea.

I have set up a number of different Circles, and for the most part, they are working well.

However, when setting up and editing Circles, not all my contacts appear as options to add to the Circle.

Why is this, and is there a work-around or way to fix it?

Thank you!

They are all Bluesky accounts, but I do not have this problem with all of my Bluesky contacts - some Bluesky contacts I can add to Circles just fine. They are not private accounts, and we mutually follow each other, so I wouldn't think either of those is the issue.

I have been trying to keep all the tips, tricks, and resources that I think would be useful for folks migrating from Facebook and Instagram (as well as current Bluesky users) in one place:

I also created a separate resource list specific to Friendica:

iOS App for Friendica?

So many people are looking for alternatives to Meta products right now, but the barrier to entry to Fediverse social networks remains too high for most users, especially those still active on legacy platforms like Facebook. A specific pain-point I am encountering in trying to assist folks in making the leap is the lack of mobile clients for iOS users. Are there any plans for an iOS app for Friendica? Or an iOS version of a multi-account manager like Fedilab?

I want something with a post thread feed, like this, that also allows photos/albums, event planning, and messaging. Basically I want non-evil Facebook 😀. Bluesky is OK but it’s a Twitter app, and I don’t communicate via tweets. I think Friendica has potential.

Exactly! Event planning and differing levels of privacy (the ability to create circles, here) are key for me.

@Hank G ☑️ It appears I am unable to DM you, but if you still need Relatica beta testers for Android, I would be interested. I should warn you that I am new to Friendica and to the Fediverse in general, so my feedback would be coming from a naive user. But if that would be helpful, please let me know how I can assist.
