@Setok yep, it´s exactly the ones i could find 😀😀 i couldn´t go to Tampere, but to the one in Kirkkonummi i would absolutely love to go if my knowledge of Finnish would be more than basic or if i´d have any money at least 😩😂
oh you don’t need to worry about the language stuff in general. Most will be able to explain things in English too (Silenius for sure). There are frequently non-Finns at seminars.
@Setok yep, definily, but unless there is a foreign teacher - the local seminars are held in Finnish usually.. but anyway i´m a visual learner i have to say 😂
you should pop over to visit our dojo in Rajamäki (Ryushinkan)! We could get Tom to have some lesson focusing on that. We have had a few lessons and it’s definitely of interest to me at the moment.

the more the merrier. Feel free to both come and visit any time. On Mondays it’s usually basic technique (lead by me or one of the other sempai). Wednesday and Sunday could be anything (including kaeshiwaza), lead by Tom. On Sunday we also usually have one hour of weapons first.
@Setok thank you!! 😆😆 it´s almost one hour to drive so we´d only could visit at Sunday 🤔 could you please let me know if you´re gonna have Kaeshiwaza at some Sunday? about the weapons - i´m extremely interested in jo 😂
just let me know when would be a good Sunday for you and we can arrange to have kaeshiwaza training then. This Sunday, however, I will at least not be there.
I’m sure we can do some jō then too 😀 I’m personally quite keen on the sword and have been practising it outside aikido too. But the jō is a very formidable weapon (even when it looks so innocent!)
just be aware that a broomstick is generally more fragile than a jō. More likely to fracture if you whack something … or someone … with it! Though at least then you have two quite pointy sticks left 😁
@Setok ha ha ha, true - two sharper sticks - for each hand, even better! 😂🤣🤣 unfortunately still we´ve had very few possibilities to train with jo, so i have not yet got a chance to smash it well enough 🤣
I actually have my jō by the outside door. And a heavy bokken. One, because they’re easy to take with me when I go and practise. But two, because, you know … just in case.
I reckon they’re both more effective than a baseball bat or cricket bat (the latter being tricky to get in Finland anyway) ;)
