People mention MeWe a lot these days, and I tried it a few years ago. The interface was good but it attracted a lot of alt-right users when Twitter and FB actually moderated posts. I didn't stick around long, so I can't speak for the vibe now.

I was having trouble getting pages to load, uploading my picture, and just generally getting use to the navigation. I figured it out, but was still pretty frustrating.

Yeah, the UX needs help, and onboarding is *awful*. The website looks like a 1990s enterprise app. They need some *serious* design help.
