Hi, I'm new

Hi, I'm Petra from Cologne, Germany. I dabbled with Mastodon and the Fediverse years ago but never really got into it. Let's see if it works this time. I am mainly looking for people who are talking about personal things. I am very politically interested but recently had to cut back on consuming news in order to stay sane (haha, more or less). I love traveling, but have never left Europe (there are still so many interesting places I haven't seen yet), animals, plants (I do a bit of urban gardening on my big balconies), music (Marillion, Dido, Porcupine Tree, Vanessa Carlton and so forth), drawing, paper crafting, photography, art, and lots of other things. It would be really nice to find a few likeminded people to chat with.

Hi Petra,

I live in the US. I am an Artist, Author, Film Maker, Martial Artist, Sartorialist, and Ponderer of strange and wonderful things. I also have limited my interactions with the news for my own sanity.

Hello and welcome.

I also live in Cologne and have been using Mastodon since 2023 (new on friendica).

Apart from (early) Porcupine Tree my music taste seems to be a lot heavier. 😬 But maybe we'll meet at a concert some day and have a few Kölsch. 🤘

Hi, i'm a fan of (classic) Marillion and Porcupine Tree too! I'm a cartoonist, dad and pet owner in the US.

Hi Neal, if you mean Fish-era Marillion we're not on the same page, though, I love Hogarth-era Marillion. 😄

My friends and I were way into Fish-era Marillion in high school. When he left (same year we graduated) it was too big a shift for us and we never got into the later stuff. I'm sure it's great though

My best friend was a Fish-Marillion fan, too. She didn't like them with Hogarth.

Hi Petra! I"m in the USA (and wishing I wasn't). I love traveling and drawing, watercolor, sewing, writing, lots of things. I want to get to Europe but so far haven't managed to. Japan, Mexico and Canada, yes. Hopefully soon. Ish.
