Good morning!!!
I've got coffee. I fed the crows. I rickrolled someone on Lemmy while laying in bed. The day's off to a good start. I'm ready to Fedi!
Sup?
Fun fact: the crows know the sound of my coffee maker. When they hear it they start peeking in the windows trying to get my attention. They might think it's the sound of a cat food maker.

So, I think this is the right move.
Boycott McDonald's, Walmart and Meta.

in reply to myrmepropagandist • • •it sounds like they are explicitly avoiding the term โboycottโ in this instance. Theyโve created a page called โThe Black Consumer Advisoryโ urging people to spend their money elsewhere.
Might just be a semantic difference, the three companies youโve listed are there: naacp.org/campaigns/black-consโฆ
Like others have mentioned I rarely use any of those companies services, but Iโll be sharing it with my friends who do. Thank you for sharing it here

in reply to myrmepropagandist • • •Agreed. But NAACP is explicitly not using the word "boycott." And I suppose they are not including Target because that company supports several Black businesses.
It's easy to boycott MacDonald's. Meta a bit harder until you can get your tribe to move. And Walmart? I used to not shop there, but I'm already boycotting Amazon, so that leaves me with the problematic Target.
We've nearly waited too late to boycott the few retail stores we have left. So for me it's a work in progress.

Once Iโve run out of both money AND crack and Iโm forced to go to a white store, I do appropriate Black culture while shoplifting. But itโs ok because I pray to St Floyd every night and beg for forgiveness.

Let's face the facts. Walmart and Boeing have a lot more money to offer lawyers than the NAACP. That is the threat the NAACP is confronting.
That does not mean that we, you, me or anyone can't make a list of anti DEI companies and act on our own initiative. Personally, I never liked going to McDonald's. Even when it was convenient.

As you say, generally, the NAACP is quite conservative about these things. The merit, then, is that when they *do* speak to it, we get a trusted source.
