Some of my neighbors bring me citrus and herbs they grow in their yards. I'm now able to return the favor since I started growing dill, cilantro, sage, rosemary. I might even have some figs, ginger and tomatoes to share. This sort of thing that makes a neighborhood better.

I don't know when this started, but many times, I can't even read my own posts on the main Friendica site. It just says "public message". This just happened now. But I could read the post above it (shared from someone else) and the post below it (mine). I actually had to look through my Sent timeline in TweeseCake, so that I could match the order with the post I wanted to pin. I also can no longer even get into that terrible menu to locate Notifications with Supermium (fork of Chrome). Now, I must use Firefox.

When I landed on Mastodon, I didn't share other people's messages so much. Coming from Twitter, I was used to curate my own content and be restrictive about sharing, to avoid flooding my followers.
The absence of algorithm here led me to revise this "editorial approach" - now I share a lot more. I do hope that a future Masto update will bring a way to isolate my own posts, but in the meantime, sharing is the most powerful tool I have to add visibility to messages and people.

Then, when I went to my browser and tried to open the page, of course, it didn't work! Is there any way to find the original of a shortened web address?

this champagne is truly lovely. It's very sweet and is perfect for drinking after dinner. It's not any sort of special occasion. I just happen to like it and opened it rfor the first time a few days ago to try. It's Nando. I also learned recently that I love Pinot Grigio (I tried a homemade and a bought version), Barefoot Pink Moscato (no surprise, as I love regular moscato), and a Chilian wine that, sadly, I didn't get the name of. This goes along with my sherry, particularly Harvey's Bristol Cream, which I've always liked, and chardonay and Cabernet Sovignon in general.
I think your wine taste will be very happy in Alsace! Specially if you finish the evening with a good Gewürztraminer and a plate of local cheese selection…

Oriental Pied-Hornbill
A small black-and-white hornbill with a whitish-yellow bill and “helmet.” Primarily black, but with a white belly, facial patch, and wing and tail edges. Sexes are similar, but males have a much larger “helmet” than the female. More tolerant of human habitation than other hornbills and can sometimes be found in large city parks as well as open forests and edges. Noisy and social, often giving loud yapping calls to flockmates.

On Halloween 2024, a beautiful cat appeared in my garden. She came every day, was unchipped, & was so very nice that I named her Mabel (from the Latin "amabilis" = lovable).
On 09.01. 2025, she gave birth to 2 boys & 2 girls.
I named them:
Lua - for a Roman war goddess to whom soldiers dedicated their captured weapons.
Artemis (Arti) - Greek goddess of the hunt.
Gylfi - an ancient King of Sweden in Norse Mythology.
Sophokles (Sopho) - my favourite Greek tragedian.

It's weird how the picture with pins has all those dates… but they are not sequential? And then when you go to the article showing the written manuscripts there's no pins and the edits are just done by writing in between the lines. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
It was fun to look up “iron-gall ink" and that it still can be bought today!
