Dropped out of sight again.
My spouse went on a business trip and came back with a very nasty cold so I kind of lost bandwidth for posting. And, you know, I live in the US so a very large proportion of my open attention span is already captured by All Of That.
Still, I'm getting some things done. I finished a novel that I'd been working on for 2 years. Very happy with it. It's sweet and kind and gentle and everything soft that I need right now.
Also making good progress on the other novel which is Kill All Those Bastards Right Now, which I also need at the moment.
Been messing about in Rebelle 7 creating a piece of art for the gentle novel. I'm quite happy with how it's turning out, though I have a long way to go before it's finished.

(Alt text as I can't see how to put it on the picture: Digital drawing of the ocean with three small islands in the middle done in fall colors with a large island to the left, also in fall colors. There's a roughly sketched cliff with rocks and pine trees on the right that's only half-rendered. At the top are clouds with sheets of rain falling which are very nicely done.)
Ponder, ponder...
I'm pondering just what to make from this fabric. It's a lovely summer-weight cotton that feels like it'd be perfect for a light blouse or maybe a dress. The stripes make me want to turn it into drawstring pants but I think it'd tear out in the inseam and seat on the first wear.
So maybe something like a tunic from Gudrun Sjoden? I love her tunics, though I certainly can't afford them. Could work.
You know, after I finish the dozen or so other sewing projects I have backed up.
January Watercolor
Every year I create my own calendar. Lets me put birthdays and personally significant events on it without the writing against the wall thing. Most of the time I use photos I've taken over the year. When it's not dark before / after work I usually take photos of the sky. The Puget Sound has some lovely sunrises and sunsets on the regular.
This year, I decided that I'd do watercolors since I've been working on my watercolor skills. This one is the January watercolor. They're all water-focused because painting water is my favorite thing to do.
Super happy how this one turned out. I really love the islands in front and the clouds, too.
