#Journal of a Dutch Pixy (Tuesday, 06/05/2025)

I woke up about an hour before the alarm was set to go off. Got Arwen her meds, and then I got to the scale. Weight went down a wee bit again, and I seem to be back to my "usual" weight now. I got dressed, let Arwen out, and took my meds. Checked up on some social media, till it was time to feed Arwen. When she was eating happily, I put out the snacks, and grabbed my bag. On my way to the gym!

I had several messages from a very sweet friend, so I tried to catch up with those as I enjoyed my protein shake. I got to the seated bike for about twenty minutes. Then I did 5 on the cross-trainer. My body was sore and it wasn't having any more. So I enjoyed a massage in the chair before I got ready to head back home again.

Washed up, changed clothes, had brekky. As it was a colder night with some wind, I was smart this time, and I got my warmer jacket. 😊 Arwen wanted the shorter walk, which was OK with me. When we got back, I switched my clothes again, and I got to the treadmill for an hour. My aim was half an hour, so I was really pleased that I managed to walk for a whole hour. 😊

While I was walking, I was using AI to create some alt texts for older images that I uploaded to my Flickr in the past. I have no idea if anyone will ever see the Alt texts, but it feels good to make some of my images more accessible. But yeah, even with AI helping, it's still a lot of work to get the texts to the images in Flickr. But, it was a good distraction, as I did manage to walk for an hour. 😊

I washed up again, changed clothes, and headed to the couch for some relaxing. I was rather tired, but unfortunately, my brain was too active to let me really relax.

I walked a short walk with Arwen. Then I was playing a game when my bestie called me. The school vacation was over and she had to work again. We had a nice chat till she arrived at her work. I played the game some more, and then I got ready to walk to the supermarket for some groceries.

Unfortunately, they didn't have all that I wanted to get... Which was a bit of a bummer. When I got back, I had some food and I walked Arwen again. After that, there was a wee bit of time to game some more, until it was time to get ready to head to Cuijk.

After Arwen had her meal and a short walk, I got my bags and I headed to Cuijk. A quick stop for a quick shower for Skoosh. The construction work had made her brown instead of white. I knew that washing her properly would not help much yet, as the construction work is still going on. But a rinse would protect the paint some, as there was so much sand and dust on her. When I aimed the pressure thingie on her, and water hit her, she was dripping with brown water! Iiiieeeeeuuuuwwww so gross! She wasn't all sparkling after a quick rinse, but it definitely was an improvement. As long as it will last.... 🤔

I went to the PT and waited till it was my turn. My physio was running a bit late, so I was getting a bit stressed, as I also had to visit Lidl after the session, and I needed to be back in time for walkies... The session was good, albeit a bit painful due to my bad elbow. Then, I got my groceries, and I headed back home again.

I just had time to clean up the things, as Arwen was very eager for walkies. We had a nice walk with N&B, and the weather wasn't too bad. When we got back, I relaxed a bit with some telly until it was time to get ready for bed.

Arwen went out for a wee and then it was sleepies time. It didn't take too long before I dozed off. I woke around 21 for the loo, and then I snoozed again until about 3 minutes before the alarm was set to go off.

So, I got up and started my day/night.

SniffiVerse™ walkies Toot

Ello frens and fans of Arwen

We're back on another adventure Arwen is doing rather well, not too many long sniffs (so far). The weather is at 8°C and it's dry, so that's not too bad. 😊

I rode the bike for half an hour at the gym. After that, I tried two shoulder exercises. Just a low weight, 3* 12 reps. It was a bit uncomfortable, but it also felt good to be doing them again. The plus side of being a bit later, it's a bit less busy at the exercise machines. 💪🏼

As I shared in the gym Toot, the PC should be delivered between 11-13:30. So yeah, fingers crossed that I can get it early and make a start with it. 🍀

I don't have too many plans for today, so that should be good... I'm not sure yet if we should go to the Herperduin again. Arwen really missed it yesterday... So let's see how this walk goes, and how we both feel in a few hours... 😊

I'll probably try to make some progress with one if the games I've been playing. Don't know which one yet... Or maybe my arm and hands will allow me to do some more work in the garden. Maybe I can get the anti weeds cloth set in Arwen's corner? 🤔 Let's see how I will feel after walkies and all that...

Maybe we won't go to the woods till Friday? It really all depends on how I feel, as my body is still rather sore. My physio got some good cracks out of my back, neck, and elbow yesterday... Ouch... My back feels a bit better now, but my elbow is still painful, unfortunately...

Ah well... Let's see if I can write a bit for my blog as I walk with my gall. I did manage to take a new snap of the moon. I'll let altbot make me a nice text for it. 🌔

One of my most self annoying habits, is feeling that I have to justify my existence. In part, it is the autistic style adoption of the capitalistic work ethic to ridiculously rigid levels. Damn my black and white thinking. But mostly, it comes from a lifetime of knowing that I was different, but for the largest part of it not knowing why. It meant that I never saw my life, or the way I needed to live it, reflected anywhere else and so never had the chance to learn to see it as normal. So naturally, of course, I believed that the onus was on me to somehow have to justify it, because how else could I even begin to feel good about that?

This led me to pushing myself far more than I ever needed to. To feeling that time spent on myself, especially the wasted time of just enjoying a comfort show, or re-reading a comfort book, and especially doing as little as possible in order to rest, was always wasted time. That it wasn't justified and that therefore it was worthy only of guilt and remorse and that, as I'm obviously not doing anything better, that it was time better spent beating myself up about it.

The more spoons become an issue, as I get older and iller, the more annoying this habit becomes. But, it is a hard one for me to beat, as it's been a false way of judging myself for far too long. It's hard to just be myself and do what I need to do, especially if it means doing very little. But that is what is so often required when the spoons have been used up, or are low, and feeling guilty about that is what is actually not justified. The simple fact of it all, is that we live lives by a different rhythm. Ignoring that is what does the damage, not embracing it. And feeling that we have to somehow justify our needs, is the real negativity and wrongness.
