To my surprise, I received a request to alter one because it didn't fit. To understand what I was asked to do, I needed more information. Only after a long conversation did my client tell me he wanted to fit a picture of one size in a template that needed the other. Apparently, my explanatory email and the names I'd given the documents containing the pictures were not enough to make clear what I thought to be obvious for anyone seeing just these images:
Shortly after taking the pictures I shared here a few weeks ago, I photographed skaters for the same news outlet. Again, I didn't know if the outlet would print one that was 3:4 or 2:3, so I sent both. This time, different pictures worked best in the different sizes.

For an assignment from a local news outlet, I took pictures of an event. One of them explains the whole event and could be cropped to all three different sizes the outlet uses. I am certain a photo of 9:16 will be published on the outlet's website. Because I am uncertain if the printed article will be accompanied by a photo of 3:4 or of 2:3, I made both.
Not all the pictures I took have the same advantage as the one I'll send to my client, and I won't be showing you now. Here, you see a combination of pictures that can explain to the attentive viewer why I'm rather baffled that the newsoutlet - which doesn't have a photo editor - doesn't specify what it needs from freelance photographers.
Also, I think the pictures are too nice to stay unseen, especially by the people in them 😉
