Republicans remain far more likely than Democrats to say the U.S. is sending too much aid to Ukraine (47% vs. 14%).
Republicans are also more likely to say the U.S. doesn’t benefit from NATO membership (51% vs. 17%) and that European countries should increase their defense spending (50% vs. 30%).

it's rare to see smoked beer (Rauchbier) outside of Bamberg. A beer that tastes like bacon.
Smoke beer is a specialty that is made with smoked malt.Special kilns feed beechwood smoke through the grains when roasting.

This ice storm is complicating everything. Our internet went out late this morning. Now the power is out, which also took the restored internet down again.
I have a long-running grudge against our electric utility for not adequately maintaining the lines. Too many trees grow too close, but they are disinterested in being more aggressive. And so we appreciate the line crews, but loathe the utility.
I just got this wild estimate for power to be restored by 11:00 PM… the DAY AFTER TOMORROW?!?
The current ETA on restoration of power is another 18 hours from now, 36 hours in total. So far, we’ve got no real hardship other than having to get up every four hours to run the generator long enough to keep the fridge and freezer at safe temperatures. I’m tired, but fine. Ambient temperature in the house is chilly, but it could be much worse.
Somehow schools are open today, which I think a mistake. All night & this AM, I heard large branches break and fall under the weight of ice. Dangerous.
The outage map shows just how many small outages there are. Ice bringing down branches on localized areas. Lots of them.
We are one of the 20 houses without power in the small green almost-triangle. I suspect we’ll be a low priority, probably rightfully so, because of the number of houses affected.
Physically, we are fine. This update, however, is soul-crushing.

The house is cold and dark. My mood is becoming more so.
Thank god for flannel sheets. Absolutely carrying my fragile mood right now.
Another run of the generator to keep the food refrigerated/frozen in safe temperatures. Now climbing back into bed and I’m nearly instantly and comfortably warm. 🛌 🥰

The poor company is so scattered with all hands on deck that they are struggling to keep current (no pun intended) on their notifications. I just got an update mistakenly targeting an ETA of tomorrow at 5:00 PM. I would have cried.
