Ah well... Be silent, my worrying brain...

I just sent an email to my GP practice to ask if they could help me with finding and arranging care at home, after the surgery is done. Last time, mum stayed with me and helped me. But her health isn't as it was almost 4 years ago, so I want to check out the options, just in case...

I hope that my neighbor will ask her son and DiL when they'd be able to help me with the couch. It's an easy move, as it's not a heavy couch, but it needs more people to make it easy. And when I know the couch can be moved, then I know when they can bring the bed and mattress in (so I can sit on the bed to watch telly before the surgery, otherwise I need to sit on the ground 😂 and so it can be ready when I go into hospital).

Arwen did her best with walkies, and she's been snoozing ever since.

I've been on the hometrainer for half an hour, even did some light dumbbell exercises, and now I'm on the couch. Want to read, but am a tad tired, so will probably just watch some telly, and maybe snooze a bit.

I've been working on my blog during the SniffiVerse™ walkies, as I've shared in a previous Toot. 😊

Just wish that my night had been better, as I feel so tired and there's still so much to do...

The dishwasher is working it's magic, so that will be done when we get back from Nijmegen, later today.

Hope you're all doing well! I do miss not having a lovely moon snap of tonight, especially as it's close to the full moon. But there were so many clouds... Though still no sign of rain. And yeah, usually I'm not too fond of rain, especially when I need to go out for walkies. But it's been dry so long now, that we definitely do need some water from the skies...

I is back folks! I didn't have the best night. 😔 Woke once for the loo, and then I woke about 80 minutes before the alarm. I had a horrible dream and my whole body was sore, so I just got up and started my day. I didn't want any more of that dream and my body needed movement...

I have not worked on the garden for two days now. I know my neighbor needs the shovel today, so I wanna rake the bigger part of the garden today, to get the stuff out that came loose when I shoveled the weeds out. My elbow won't like it. But it needs to get done, especially if I wanna get the sheet for the soil in two weeks...

I did have the call with the hospital, and they gave me the best date ever for a surgery! 😂 Friday the 13th (of June). I could change it to a later date, but as dad has been planning the holidays, this is already cutting it short to prepare for that... The surgeon told me end of May, early June, so the 13th is two weeks after that, so it will leave me with two weeks less to prepare for the holiday... Fingers crossed 🤞🏻 that all will go well...

I found the website of the folks that did my rental bed in 2021, so I'll see about using them again this year. I need to check with my neighbor when the "young ones" could be able to help me with the couch, as then I know when I can order the bed for...

The (video) calls are planned with anesthesia. They wanted me to check up with the physio too, but after discussing it, they were sure that I had enough experience and my own physio was doing enough to help me as well. So that saves me from needing to "learn" things that I've known since I was 17. 😇

Ah well, let's see if I can get some exercise in. I had a shorter night due to a stupid nightmare and my body tensing up all the way... Hey ho, let's do this! 💪🏼

#Journal of a slightly anxious Dutch Pixy 🧚🏼‍♀️ (Tuesday, 08/04/2025).

I woke up an hour before the alarm. I had not woken before, so it was a long sleep. And now I just had to get up and start my day. The scale was being less kind, so that was a bummer. I got dressed and took my meds. Prepped Arwen's food and took her out to do her things. She was happily eating when I got my bag and headed to Skoosh.

I checked my notifications while I was enjoying my protein shake. When the meds kicked in, I got to the seated bike and did my thing. A nice massage in the chair later and then I got ready to head home again. I remembered (in time) that I had meds to pick up, so I drove to the pharmacy to use the medical safe thingie. I entered my code and I got the correct stuff. Yay!

I got home, washed up, changed, had brekky. Then Arwen and I got ready for SniffiVerse™ walkies. The weather wasn't too bad, and we had a nice walk. Although I do wonder if Arwen is struggling a bit more with the longer walk these days. 😔 Poor gall.... I worked a bit on my blog.

When we got home, I got the laptop and I worked on my journal post. I made sure it got ready to be shared at 7. I was feeling rather tired after that, so I relaxed on the couch a bit. I just felt very bläh and I didn't like it... Had my usual morning walk with Arwen and then I read a bit. Bestie called but she got called herself during that call, so we only had a short chat. I read a bit in my eBook and then I got ready to head to Lidl. But Arwen indicated she wanted a short walkies, so I took her out to do her thing before I left.

I was still too early, so it wasn't all bad. When the store opened, I quickly got what I needed, and then I headed back home again. I fixed some food and relaxed a wee bit. And then... Arwen wanted walkies again. We saw the neighbor, so Arwen was all delighted.

I wanted to call the hospital today, to check for the surgery date, and I found out that the only times to call were Tuesday and Friday between 10:30-12:00. So I had to wait a bit... When it was time, I called, and got a tape saying to call between said times. Eugh, I had waited till 10:30, so they were just running late? I immediately called again and then... There was someone already connected. Ah well, wait and wait... The lady checked things and then she had the best date for me! Friday the 13th! 😂 If I were superstitious, I could have a later date. But I just giggled and took this one, as the sooner the better! So when I hung up, I finally knew the date. It wasn't set in stone, but if all goes well, this will be my surgery date. June 13th. Check!

Feeling the anxiety slowly be released from my body, I relaxed a bit. Till it was time for the walkies. When we were almost home, the neighbor came out. And even though Arwen seemed tired, she still wanted to join them. So I could tell about my news. 😊

I felt so tired after that, that I spend loads of time on the couch just watching telly... Hopefully the rest of today and yesterday will mean that I can get some gardening done on Wednesday. 🤞🏻

Around 13:30 we went for walkies again. The dogs had a good time and the neighbor and I had some laughs as well. During the walk, I missed a call from a private number. No voicemail. 🤔 Thinking it could be the hospital, I switched on the sound, just in case they'd call again. Which they did. After a longer talk, the lady was nice but she wasn't a fast talker 😂, I had some appointments planned. I was grateful that they felt like I didn't really need the physio prep for the surgery. I kinda know how the crutches work... 😉 And I know how to get in and out of the bed. And how to transfer to car seats. And how to do stairs... I am a pro 😂. (unfortunately).

I relaxed a bit with Arwen, and when it was time, I let her out to do het things. I went to bed and it didn't take too long to fall asleep.

I woke once and then again, after having a bad nightmare. My whole body was tense, so it was best to get up, even though I still had 70 minutes till the alarm. Ugh... Well, let's start the new day/night, I guess...

SniffiVerse™ walkies Toot

Ello frens and fans of Arwen

It's dry, still, and 6°C, with a real feel of about 4. 🌔

We're out and about again, although Arwen is a tad slow today. I wonder if she may want to walk the smaller route today? She's walking a bit more wobbly, so maybe she made a wrong step yesterday? Just gotta take it easy. But my leg is annoying me, and when I go too slow, it "rattles" a bit again.

But hey, "just" 65 more days till my surgery. When you just say the date, it seems ages away. But when you count the days, somehow it seems much closer than that... 🤔 I just saw in the app there I made a countdown widget for my surgery, that's it's been 282 days since I got the keys, and 270 days since the move... Crazy times! It really doesn't feel like that, but when I know the surgery it's on June 13th, that's just about 2½ weeks before the first year of having the keys for the small house is done and dusted. (and what a lot of dust it is 😂).

I have things to arrange now. And I'll need go check with mum. Will she want to come stay with me for a while? Or will I need to contact "thuiszorg", which will need to provide care at home for me? As I will get some strict living rules and I can't just do things as I do them now. So I will need someone to help me with socks and shoes, with getting meals to the table. You're so limited when need to use two crutches at all times...

So, I need to ask when some of my neighbors will be able to help me with the couch, so that I can plan the renting of the bed and mattress. I need to ask mum for the care after the surgery. I need to ask my neighbor if she'd be able to take Arwen every now and then, as I can do some small walks, but the longer ones I can't do, or not on my own, at least.

Ugh, so much needs go be sorted and I hate needing so much help. 😔 But the way my leg is now, it does need fixing...

Sorry, babbling loads... Even if it's still 65 days away, I guess I'm already a bit anxious about it... 🫣 Fingers crossed 🤞🏻 that I can get everything planned properly and in time... 🍀

Let's see if my brain wants to ramble some more, and I'll write a update about my surgery news for my blog. 😉 Catch you all later folks!

I've been trying to write some more for my blog. I need to create some more (book) quote posts soon. And hopefully, tomorrow, I can visit the zoo and take a few new snaps that I could use for some more Silent Sunday posts... 😊

Ello sweet (and sporty) Friendos

Big bummer with the scale this morning. It had gone up again, well, the numbers of my weight, that is...

I know I've been getting less exercises the last week or so. First I dislocated my thumbs again, and I could not use my dumbbells because of that.

And the last few days, I've been "saving my spoons" so I could work on the garden, as I really needed to weed out the garden, and that takes a lot of me.

I know I need to get back to exercising more, but honestly, I've been feeling exhausted and not motivated lately. 😔

Today, I want another hour of work in the garden this morning. I'll need to walk to the supermarket, so that's some extra steps in. But I do feel a tad bläh, and even the higher number of the scale didn't get me more motivated, just because I feel so tired.

Ugh, I wish my body would be better and that my mind would be more positively thinking at the moment, so I could be more motivated to actually do exercises, when my body will allow...

Anywhoo... Let's see how today will go then...

Ello sweet and lovely Friendos

I is back folks! 😁 Been getting to the notifications, and now I'm slowly getting ready to get busy at the gym.

I had a decent enough night, woke once after a silly dream, and had to go to the loo. Then I fell asleep again, and I don't think I had any weird dreams, until the alarm woke me up.

Today should be a fun day! No weeding today. I do need to give my arms and hands some rest, especially as my right elbow is displaying symptoms of being a "tennis elbow" at the moment. (mayoclinic.org/diseases-condit…) so it definitely needs a day of rest. Even though that's hard as the gardens aren't done yet! Well, the front bit is a long way done, it needs the last bit of weeds pulled out and then I need to rake it properly, which will be hard too, to get all the last bits out and to make it less like a moon surface 😂. But... That's planned for Tuesday morning.

Today, I wanna visit the Zoo for a few hours. I didn't go last month, as appointments kept popping up. So now, I wanna go! I wanted to go this Friday, but then mum's surgery got scheduled for Friday, so Monday it is. 😊 So this morning, I'll walk Arwen. Then I'll pack my little bag (ow I need to charge the battery for the camera that I wanna take, just in case), and then get ready to take Arwen to Nijmegen. I'll get Arwen to my parents and then I'll drive towards the zoo. It opens at 9, but I don't mind being a little earlier. When it opens, I'll get in, and then I hope it will be less busy for the first two hours. Last time, it got a lot busier around 10:30/11:00, so that was a good time for me to head home. 😊 When it's less crowded, it's way easier to relax and watch the animals in peace... I love it!

Makes me with that they could do an "autistic aimed morning" some days, where the "normal" folks aren't allowed, so things will be calmer, hopefully. I know they are doing more and more events with "less stimulus" moments, so yeah, a zoo without loads of screaming and running kids... 😂 Sounds like heaven... 😇 But that's just autistic me making big wishes... Not trying to be unkind, but I just hate it when kids start screaming at the animals to do things... They're not circus animals, and it can startle them so they move away from the noise, instead of "doing the fun things".... If that makes sense...

After the zoo, I'll pick up Arwen again. If dad is up, I hope he can help me to order a pair of prescription sunglasses. 😊 I got some money, and I do need prescription sunglasses, as the clip-on for the normal glasses is OK enough in winter but not in summer... But I want the special kind of glasses, as my eyes are so sensitive, so that's quite some money. But now I saved some and I got some as a thank you from an instance, so I can order me a pair. The pair I was drooling over, they're about €250 more expensive than the one I found now, so that's not gonna happen... But drooling can be nice. 😂 So fingers crossed 🤞🏻 we can order it together. 😊

If the hospital doesn't call me today, then I'll call them tomorrow. I will have waited two weeks and I'm very eager to know a date! So as much as I hate calls, I will prepare a script for that call, and then call them Tuesday morning after the 9 o'clock walkies.... Ugh... Already get sweaty hands thinking about it... But I need that date to be scheduled.... 😇

So first! The gym, SniffiVerse™ walkies, some relaxing, another walkies, and then the zoo! Yay! 😁

A nice start to the new week, me thinks! hope you all had a decent weekend and that the new week will start (or had started, for some of you) the best way possible!

I woke when about half an hour before the alarm. I didn't wake during the rest of my night, so it was a very decent sleep. The scale was not that kind, but I felt OK enough, so yeah, just getting on with the new day. I got dressed, took my meds, prepped Arwen's food, and I let her out to do her business. She was happily eating when I got my bag and headed to Skoosh.

I checked the notifications on my social media, while I was waiting for the meds to kick in. When I had enjoyed the protein shake and the meds were starting to do their thing, I got to the seated bike. I rode half an hour. Followed by ten minutes on the massage chair. I switched shoes and then I got ready to head home again.

I washed up, changed clothes, and enjoyed my brekky. Arwen and I headed out for walkies. The weather was dry and all, but I quickly found out that a warmer jacket would have been better. There was a nasty cold wind... Brrrr... Fortunately, Arwen didn't stand still too much, so it was just my hands that got really cold.

When we got back, I relaxed on the couch a bit, as I felt so tired! Then I got my laptop and I worked on the journal blog post a bit. I walked with Arwen, and then I had a bite to eat. It was getting light out, so I prepared myself to work in the garden again.

I just started, when the neighbor and her dog came walking towards us. No nomnoms, but Arwen still wanted to join them... So I had a short disruption. After the short walk, I went back to the garden work. I worked for about 40-45 minutes, and then my body said a big "Nope" again. So I cleaned up, changed clothes, and got to the couch... A bit of relaxing, before Arwen wanted walkies again... 😉 This time, she was lucky, as we saw the neighbor again, and this time there were nomnoms. When we got back, I got my bag, and I walked to the supermarket.

I almost forgot one of the things that I went to the store for! 🫣 Thanks brain! Haha! Fortunately, I remembered before I had paid, so I quickly got it and, after paying, I went back home again. I relaxed a wee bit, and then my sweet friend was ready, so we went online with our Playstations. We had a very nice chat, she was working on the expedition, and I was just messing around and gathering some bones... Yeah, getting 80 for the expedition apparently wasn't the enough! 😂

I also managed to wash a small load and hang that while my friend was gathering her bones. The reception of my headphones is buggy when upstairs, so I tried to hurry, so we could chat properly again. 😊

Around 13:15, I went offline. Arwen told me that it was time go walkies. So I texted N that Arwen was getting restless. When they were ready, we headed out for walkies. The dogs had a fun time playing at the pond. But we really need some rain, as the pond is about 50 cm lower these days, as there hasn't been any rain for quite some time....

We got back, and I took my meds, and prepped everything for the next night. When I was almost crashing on the couch, I let Arwen out for a wee. Then I got to bed, and I quickly fell asleep.

I woke once due to a silly dream and needing to wee. When I woke again it was because my alarm was making noise. Guess I needed some sleep! So I got up and I started my new day/night, well, new week even!

A music Toot this time but I'll throw in some gaming as well.

I got my first weekly stats from the stats.fm app, so I wanted to share here. It's definitely not a surprising list. hihi...

I played a little NMS yesterday while chatting to @Nio who was working on the expedition. I decided to go out and find some more bones. I wanna build a exhibition kind of area and then play around with different kinds of fossil displays. I know it won't ever be as cool as others will be able to make it, as I truly suck with building in NMS (I struggle with the 3D aspect and how to connect things properly). But, it will be fun to try it out... 😊

Today there won't be any gaming. I've given myself a day off, no garden work, but I'll visit the zoo for a few hours. Hopefully the weather will be nice and it won't be too busy in the early hours... 🤞🏻

On Tuesday, I wanna do some garden work again. And then probably reward myself with some gaming. 😊
