I’ve always enjoyed the zoo, and most of them have been making huge changes to make the habitats even better for the animals. While I was married, my then wife and I had a subscription for a few years to one of the closest zoos. I loved going there, but unfortunately we didn’t go as much as I would have liked. 😔
After the divorce, I struggled with loads of things and getting a zoo sub just wasn’t possible. But now, thanks to a very sweet friend, I’ve gotten a sub early February. As I mentioned in the previous blogs Living the life… & A little “pick-me-up”…. So now, hopefully, I’ll be able to go more often and just relax a few hours and try to get nide snaps…
I enjoy looking at the animals. Some are so beautiful and exotic, others are just silly, some energetic while others are lazy… There’s so many sorts and they all have something to enjoy… I don’t have a good camera anymore, as it broke. Well, I still have it, but I don’t really have the funds to get it fixed. And I wonder if the camera is worth fixing. I have a “simple” compact camera, and sometimes it gets beautiful snaps, other times, not so much…
My phone has a decent enough camera, but I do hope that I can get a better phone when I change my provider this August. When I compared the snaps I made to the ones my friend made with a newer model, there’s definitely a difference… 😊 So maybe in half a year, I’ll have a better phone to take better snaps and vids with.
The one thing about not being able to work is that I can just head to the zoo when I have no other appointments, and when my mum can watch Arwen for a few hours. Or, when it’s a spur of the moment idea, Arwen should be able to be OK for a few hours on her own. If it’s just me going, then I can check what I wanna see that day, and then head back home…
It will only cost me the gasoline, as unfortunately, Skoosh doesn’t run on just love! 😉 But her being more economical, it would probably cost me about €10 in gasoline costs. So if I go there every now and then, I should be OK.
Of course I’ll spam the FediVerse with snaps and vids every time I’ve been there… 😇 I have a collection on PeerTube (video sharing), where I’ve shared all the Burger’s Zoo vids (so far). You can find it here:

My favorite animals in the zoo are the elephants. They are Indian ones, and I think the African type is even more beautiful…

Some other animals that I think are very fascinating are in the Burger’s Ocean. They have some beautiful jellyfish, sharks, rays, and of course many fish!
A shark (leopard shark, I believe) swimming by in the big ocean’s aquarium.
I’ve always loved the “big cats”, and it was also awesome to see both them and the elephants when I was on safari in Kenya, back in October 2002. So seeing the different kitties at Burger’s is always a delight too, especially when there are young ones involved.

So yeah, I hope this year will bring me many good days where I can visit the zoo and try to get more snaps. And, they rent out small electric scooters, so maybe after my surgery, when I’m feeling a bit better again, I may be able to persuade my fiends to take me there and I’ll rent a scooter then… 😇 Gotta make the most of my gifted sub! 😘 With big thanks to the friend that made this possible! 🤗 💜
