The final COP29 agreement DOES NOT EVEN MENTION making a transition away from fossil fuels.

Our so-called leaders will *never* do what is needed. They’d rather burn the Earth and boil the oceans than turn away from capitalism.

Every economic system should be able to solve a simple collective action problem. Favoritism and lobbyism is what's breaking the climate negotiations. Plus, a political elite that is perhaps too occupied with their election chances to demand from their own citizens emission reductions.
