Edit. The minor injury unit was a good call. In and out fairly quickly and the proud and confirmed owner of a broken hand. The x-ray to confirm will take place tomorrow (I knew they wouldn't be able to do it today, it's only a small local hospital). After that it looks like I'll have to go to the main hospital, woe on me.

For yet another highlight for my piss poor proprioception, I managed to go arse over tit tonight at work. I was making my way back to the taxi across the pot holed, barely lit public yard we keep them in. I was obviously being careful and was sure I was missing one of the rain filled holes. But, no, my fool of a foot landed on the edge, twisted, and down I went.

The consequence of that is that I seem to have a broken finger, or even hand. Did I go to the ER to get this checked out? No. Because there is no way in hell I'm going to an ER on a Saturday night. Hours spent waiting to be checked out, amongst the sensory nightmare of a busy ER, I'd rather be in pain and not know. Hospitals are a nightmare I'd rather avoid at the best of times. A Saturday night in an ER, is definitely not one of the best of times.

This is why so many of my injuries go untreated. Like I've hobbled around on broken toes for months, rather than go near a hospital. For me, most things fall into the category of, they'll either get better, kill me, or I'll have no choice but to go to the docs. None of which has exactly helped the aches and pain burdens of getting older. But, this is what happens when the reality of getting treated seems worse than just adapting to the problem. It doesn't help that being able to deal with the pain, either by an absurdly high threshold, or sheer stubborn will power, makes this easier. But, the simple fact is that all too often the price of getting something looked at, just doesn't seem worth the cost of doing so and this was the case even before I know why. Now at least I know where the reluctance and unwillingness comes from and that it's not actually irrational.

By the way. Tomorrow I will go to a minor injuries unit, to get it looked at. I'm struggling enough with only one working hand at the moment. I'd rather it didn't become permanent.

SniffiVerse™ walkies Toot

Ello frens and fans of Arwen

Arwen and I are on the move again. Well, I'm trying to move and Arwen is enjoying all the sniffs! Which, of course, is the reason for this walk. But afyer some time, I would like to walk a bit again....

I wonder if Arwen will pull the "limping farce" again on me, as her law looked very well when I cared for it and she's walking without any issues now... 🤔

I did my best at the gym. Rode the bike for half an hour and then pushed myself to use the Smith Machine, as I was already making excuses to not have to use it.... 🫣 But I managed three sets of eight reps with the 2*7,5+11,3 kilos, so not too bad.

I do hope that Arwen will honor me with a bigger walkies again tonight. It's been a while and I do miss the extra time spent with her. Especially as it's 9°C now, and dry...

A while ago I got a coupon for the bol.com site (like a Dutch Amazon, but better), and I had intended to buy a puzzle with it (and get a puzzle mat as well). But, I am slowly hooking up my game consoles and I need more sockets for my power bits... So, I had to use the coupon for a splitter and an extension cord with extra sockets. But the puzzle and the mat are still in my wishlist.

I love Arwen with all my heart and I'd do anything for her. But the supplements and meds that cost me about €100 a month are making it harder for me to get other stuff, both stuff I need and stuff I want... But I guess I'd rather pay the €100 and have Arwen with me, than to have the money and not have Arwen anymore.... 😢 I know she's aging, and I know it could just happen.... And if she has to cross the rainbow 🌈 bridge, I'd rather have her pass in her sleep, without any pain... But I am not sure that I could handle it right now!

There's so much negativity happening, with the surgery that I need, and the financial mess of my male ex that I'm being dragged in to.... Ugh... I need my little bit of sanity that Arwen provides!

Let's see if I can add a nice snap of Arwen to this Toot, and then I'll see if I can write a bit for my blog. Ow wait, I had some Zoo vids that I wanted to edit first.... 😊 Hopefully we can walk the longer walkies, as the weather is just good for it....

Ello sweet and lovely Friendos

It's me again! I is back on da Fedi!

It took a bit to fall asleep. Every time I almost dozed off, my phone was having an issue with my stream, and it paused, which made the room silent again, and it startled me. Ever since the move, I've used my phone with a feel-good series to fall asleep, as the construction sounds often were loud, and the phone helped me to distract from that. And now I'm kinda used to that, even though I always used to read before bed. Now that the construction is less, maybe I should try the eReader again? But I do enjoy dozing off with my series... 🤔 Anywhoo....

I woke about 15 minutes to the alarm. For some reason, the scale showed me a big change in numbers, but not the positive bit. 🤔 My weight was a bit lower, but so were my muscles and health score. I know I didn't use the Smith Machine yesterday, due to there being folks around, but the numbers had a big difference. I know that the scale is definitely not 100% accurate, but it usually doesn't make such big differences in a day time. Ah well.... The weight was down a wee bit, which was good. And I'll just do my thing and see how the scale will like me in about 23 hours from now. 😉

I don't have too many chores today. Need to hoover and let the dishwasher run (better keep the doors closed or it will run off! 😂). Maybe my laundry will be dry, so I could take that down and fold it and such. My winter jacket will definitely not be dry, as my washing machine had issues with centrifuging it. 😔 But if it's dry enough, I can hang it on the upstairs rack when the other clothes have been taken off... So a few chores today. Maybe I can try to hook up the PS2 as well... 🤔

Yesterday I hooked up the Wii, but I didn't test it yet, as I was too tired when I had finally done all the chores. I bought a special thingie that converts the tulip cables to hdmi, or so it says, as my new TV doesn't have a way to plug old fashioned stuff in... I managed to hook it up yesterday, so maybe today I can check to see if it works. I don't have any free HDMI slots, but years ago, I bought a splitter. So maybe I need to attach that one so I can have the Blu-ray and converter on that one? As I know the newer Playstations don't work through a splitter, for some reason.... So yeah, still some work to do... But I have the time, so I can do it whenever I feel like it. 😇

Yesterday I didn't game, so maybe when I try out the Wii, and maybe the PS2, I can game a bit on that... 🤔 But I do wanna make some progress with the Lego Star Wars game, like I also wanted to do yesterday, and then ended up watching telly and scrolling the Fedi...

Hope you're having a good weekend so far folks! Hopefully Arwen will walk better again, so we can try the longer walk again (let's see if she will try to trick me in the shorter round again, as I feel that yesterday, she played me 😂). I "need" to edit some more vids, and I hope to share a few more snaps from the zoo. But it's been going more slowly, as I've also been adding the Bing Alt texts to the snaps on Flickr, to have a better accessibility there. I have a shitload (excuse the language) of images on Flickr and I know I can never add descriptions to all, but maybe when I make Alt texts with Bing for snaps I'm sharing on Pixelfed, I can also share them on Flickr. 😊 It's a simple copy and paste, after all...

Anywhoooo... Let's check my other social media and then get my big behind in gear to do something active here at the gym. 😉
