Isn’t this beautiful? There happen to be some nails already in the walls of the new place, so I hung this piece on one of them. I love it. It looks like a painting, but it’s a stylized photograph, printed onto canvas. Joe bought it for me from our friend Bill years ago. Bill hung out on this corner for awhile until he got the perfect shot. It was chilly. I think everyone in Boston will recognize what part of town this is...your thoughts?😋

Don't forget this. Charlottesville. This happened in 2017. It was horrifying. Look at these faces. They literally want to kill my friends. I wrote about it in an essay called "Say No To Every Nazi." It begins:
"Right now in Trump's America, there are Nazi-like mobs marching for their right to rid America of "defectives" and "take back their country." They wear no hoods or cloaks. They fly Confederate flags high, they call for violence and preach freedom. These are people who view the concept of diversity and equal rights as a direct threat to them, personally. "You will not replace us! Jews will not replace us" is their paranoid battle cry. They chant "If it ain't white, it ain't right." If you're not with them, you're traitors and "libtards." They are proud Republicans, and they have heard the "Make America Great Again" message loud and clear."
Dear Trump acolytes. We "libtards" told you. We warned you. It was clear from the beginning. If you voted for this, with all due respect, F you.∎

This is throwing back to Mother's Day 2012, to the days when I used to occasionally do a video accompaniment to my blog entries, which I dubbed BLOGCASTS. This was in honor of my mom. I figure it's perfect for Women's History Month. It's called "What am I, an a**hole?" and other Mom'isms." It's about some expressions, in particular one expression, that my mom, all of seventeen when she had me, used to say. She is quite eloquent, and quotable--my friends all say "What am I, an a**hole?" to this day!

A certain entry in my blog from 2017 is rising in the rankings, I wonder why (I don't wonder, that's sarcasm). I remember this. The first Women's March. It's titled "The Revolution Will Be Digitized (Because F**k This Guy)."

By today's standards, childcare in the 70s and 80s would have gotten our parents arrested. I watch a lot of "body cam" police videos on YouTube (shut up it's fascinating) and I've seen a fair number of parents put in handcuffs for child abandonment. This one woman went to visit another apartment in the same apartment complex while her 13 year old was in charge of the 9 year old. They were both asleep. Ummmm...yeah. (Read More On Blog)

Well. The Olympics are on TV again. It's Day One. That means it's the 14th anniversary of my wholly unexpected, life-altering and remarkably inconvenient psychotic break.
That fraught, violent week-long episode opened a chapter in my life that is still playing out in many ways. At the time I wrote in an essay called Behind Three Doors (Read more on blog):

Hey guys! I've been on Friendica for less than two hours. Even so, I'd like to post about my mom. My mom has a new website to promote her oil and watercolor paintings. I love her work! She is so talented. JoAnna Lombardi is her name. She should be participating in a show soon, probably NYC.
This link goes to my blog, where I wrote more about my mom, and which includes her site link.
The Stevie Wonder watercolor is in a private collection. In my personal collection I have Boy George, Billie Holiday, Velma Middleton, and a few more of non-famous people.
