One glass of wine, and i'm belting out Ivor Novello songs with the original artists! Thank goodness, I had the common sense to switch from Mary Ellis and Vanessa Lee to Olive Gilbert and Trefor Jones, whose ranges I can sing without ruining my voice! I don't even want to be a supprano! Why on Earth didn't I just transpose them as always? And now, I shall return to my own personal Eisteddfod, as I listen to the tripple harp, while reading The Mabinogion (, in English, of course_). I blame this squarely on Ivor Novello and his mother! They sent me down this delightful rabbit whole of Welsh exploration. I was perfectly happy being bored and quiet. Now, I've got all sorts of theatre people to research and an entirely new genre of music and instrument to learn about! And hello to anyone Welsh reading this. Thank you for your beautiful music and lovly stories! I'm enjoying them emensley.

Update. Haha. That didn't work. After a few songs, I went back to Novello. Ah well. I'm still smiling.

There is a song that reminds me of Clara Novello Davies, and every time I hear it, I think of her. It embodies all that she stood for, not just becasue of the singing, but because of her philosophy on life. It's I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing. But tonight, I was very naughty, and created my own lyrics to it. "I'd like to teach the world to sing in perfect harmony, but I won't try, and here is why, because I sing off key!" haha
in reply to Georgiana Brummell

What a strange instrument the tripple harp is. It's huge, and its sound is entirely different than the harps I'm accustomed to hearing. Sadly, I haven't heard many, but I have heard a few, and this is like none of them. It must take years to learn how to play it.

Resources are not enough to continue with how we have things

The use of resources from all of us in civilization is taking more than what this world continually provides. It is not rocket science to understand this can't go on. But staying with civilization is just trying to do that. Many should really depart from it and be growing all the things for themselves with those along with them. populationmatters.org/the-fact…

The Spirit of Christmas is weird

Nothing quite says 'Spirit of Christmas" like lopping down an 80yo Norwegian pine, and shipping it over to Trafalgar Square, so millions of foreigners can watch it slowly die over the next few weeks.

Deutsche Mitverantwortung an Israels Kriegsverbrechen in Gaza

"Denn die deutsche Mitverantwortung an Israels Kriegsverbrechen in Gaza steht außer Frage – auch wenn die Richter des IGH erst in Jahren abschließend urteilen werden, ob es sich dabei im juristischen Sinne um einen Völkermord handelt oder nicht."

Taller vehicles are more dangerous to pedestrians, even at low speeds, research finds

A study by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety shows higher speeds are worse for pedestrians regardless of vehicle height — but those risks are amplified for vehicles with taller front ends.

I haven't been here in a few days. Nothing happened. I was just busy with documentaries and preparing my virtual machines by removing unwanted programs, cleaning them up, etc., all in preparation for my new tablet! I never thought, in my life, that I would buy a tablet, because I'm obsessed with using a keyboard. But after constantly shorting mine out, due to hyperhydrosis (excessive sweating), I decided that I may as well get one, so that I could change the keyboard when needed. Plus, this is a Toughpad, so it can withstand pretty much anything. Did I mention it's small? Barring desktops, I hate large computers. How anyone can consider 11.6 inches to be a mini laptop is beyond me. This one is 7 inches, which suits me well. I even found the perfect bag to go along with it, and it holds the Toughpad, plus my Galaxy A15, plus my keyboard! It's also water-proof and wonderfully cushioned.

Toughpads are great. I've used a few at work over the years. I'm sure you'll enjoy it.
in reply to Dave Heinemann 🇦🇺

@Dave Heinemann 🇦🇺 I already am. I love small machines, and this fits the bill very nicely. Plus, it's very durable, as are all Toughpads and Toughbooks, so that's an added bonus.
