Only rode the seated bike for half an hour today. My muscles are a tad sore from my silly idea to try some more weight for a few reps yesterday 😂.
Fortunately I have physio today, so hopefully he can help me out with that...
I may try to do some weights at home, depending how I feel after SniffiVerse™ walkies with my gall.
I wanna do so much, but my body often goes like "Nope, not now". And that makes it harder to stay motivated, especially when the little bits I can do won't show me a huge successful change (which is understandable, but yeah, we all like to see some profess I guess).
The end of the month is slowly coming near, so then I'll be able to finish my February blog about it. There won't be a big change in weight, if any at all... But I do hope that the exercises for my shoulders will have meant a little improvement there... 🤞🏻

I got a little tear in my eye remembering season three. 😢
We watched it when it was new on tv and the waiting a week for a the next episode was crazy making! For the entire run of the show, we planned our lives around being home to see the new episode. 😆

#OnThisDay, 24 Feb 1968, Jocelyn Bell Burnell - along with her male supervisor and three other men - published a paper confirming the discovery of pulsars. She had built the array, picked up the signal and argued it was not an anomaly. Hewish received the Nobel prize for it in 1974: Bell Burnell did not.
In 2018 Bell Burnell received a £3m prize for her work. She's used it to set up a foundation to improve the diversity in STEM.

I was lucky enough to meet Jocelyn a few years ago. She was so humble and unassuming, despite being a brilliant and famous scientist, and made time to talk to everyone running the event.
She has dedicated her life not only to the science itself, but also promoting and supporting diversity and inclusively in science, and I have nothing but the utmost respect for her.
If you ever get a chance to attend a talk by her, I highly recommend it.

She's an absolute legend! She spoke at a recent Fast Radio Burst scientific meeting I was at and we were all star-struck. As others have noted, she is brilliant, and also incredibly kind, humble, generous, and very very funny.

I'm slowly tyring to find all my Friendos to follow on Fiendica as well... I try to add the folks I chat with on here. But sometimes, Friendica has issues finding certain folks...
Don't feel pressured in following me back though! I love to be connected with you all there as well, as it does wonders for my time line 😇
Or, feel free to only follow my Friendica, as I try to boost all my other accounts form there (when the node is up and running properly). So, just following me on there would mean less mess of my toots flooding your time line.
I don't care about the numbers. I do care about connecting with wonderful people, and the Fedi sure is full of those!

I'm not sure what you mean by titles?
Do you mean a link where there's a bit of text instead of a web address? That's only possible on instances running certain types of non-Mastodon software, I think Friendica supports it for example? (More info on Friendica here: fedi.tips/friendica-a-flexible…)
There's no support for creating this kind of link on Mastodon or forks as far as I know, though they will display it within Mastodon if other types of instances post it.

Hello, everyone. In October of 2024, Facebook shut down their Basic Mobile site, which was fully screen reader accessible. Their main site and apps are terrible to use with screen readers. I therefore switched to Friendica.Akkoma
Not to be outdone by the crocus, the mighty snowdrops have joined the party 🌱🌸

A tip for those who post in multiple languages:
If you mostly post in a particular language, this is probably set up as part of your default locale on your device(s).
So if you post in a different language, it's important to change the posting language in the compose screen to match. Where this option appears depends on what app you are using. In #Tusky and #TrunksApp it's towards the top right.
When an instance has a translate option, this tells it what language to translate from. For example, my default is English so if I see a post in French and select translate, it will translate that post to English for me. If the posting language doesn't match the actual language used (eg you posted in German but left the posting language at its default setting of English), translation will fail.
Also be careful if you edit the post. Some apps will switch the language back to default so you may need to change it again.
I only recently learned this, so I'm passing it on. Boosts appreciated.

I've had my max calories today, so I know I've eaten enough and I could not be "hungry" due to lack of food...
I've done my best to fill up the Samsung Health hearts. I don't think I've shared them for a few days now? 🤔 So let's check them today, after about 13 hours of being up and "running". 😉

The weather these last couple of days turned in a more Spring type direction, so we made the most of it with a nice day out yesterday.
We met some swans, and also this absolute madlad of a Collie who attempted (failed) to fight one of the swans. It was ok though because shortly after his humiliating defeat, he found the Best Stick at the bottom of a puddle.
Traipsed around the river and various muddy walking trails, saw lots of dogs.
Found a giant mushroom for the pikmin.
And popped in to TWO Greggses on the way home but neither had any stotties left. Absolutely tragic end to an otherwise lovely day

Good morning fellow Mastos and hello Sunday. I'm led to believe we are food shopping today, but obviously this could suffer from a last minute change of (MrsD's) mind! Ow, I wish I had a good bike so that I could ride places when weather allows... I do have a hometrainer, which is starting to make some noises, but it still works... 😊
Owwwww I do need to work in the garden. I've not had one for 6 years, which was both a pro and a con... But in the newly built area I live in, there's so many weeds... I've tried to get them out, but before I rest after the work, they're back again. So, when the weather gets better again, I need to start to get the weeds out again... Wish I had money to get the gardens done so they'd require less work and they'd look better... Some day...
Hope you'll feel better soon! So that when the good weather comes, you can get riding that bike and working in the garden. 🌞
