I’ve recently (I changed the share date on this Toot, so it’s a bit “less” recently, once it goes live) shared a Toot about my on and off gaming (Toot can be found here). Which made me think I could write about that here ad well. So yeah, here I go… 😉 I will use some screenshots of games I’ve played. I don’t own the © rights to them. I’ll do my best to add alt text below the images (as I don’t know how to attach alt text to images that are hosted by Flickr, although I do add the alt text to the image description these days there as well). The text will be done by AI, as I suck with it… Just a heads up!
For those that have been following the blog for a while, you know I do enjoy some gaming every now and then. I’ve shared several posts on the topic. Written about PS Now, before it became integrated with PS+ (premium). Written about Lego games that I’ve enjoyed. And some other games for sure! 😉 Here is a link that should show all my previous posts that I’ve tagged with “gaming”. So, why a new post if I’ve written so much about it already? 🤔

The image features a vibrant, neon-themed digital design centered around gaming and entertainment. The background is a glittery, cosmic-like scene with bright pink, blue, and purple hues, scattered with glowing stars and sparkles.
A PlayStation console, partially visible in the center, is surrounded by neon geometric lines forming a triangle, emitting a glowing effect. A PlayStation controller is also in the foreground, with its buttons illuminated.
Overlaying the image is bold, playful text in a neon-style font that reads:
“Playstation Pixy Enthusiast”
The text is in bright purple with a thick pink outline, making it stand out against the glowing background.
Additionally, several emojis accompany the text:
A video game controller (🎮)
Musical notes (🎵)
A vintage film camera (🎥)
An old-school television (📺)
These elements together emphasize a passion for gaming, music, films, and television. The overall aesthetic is retro-futuristic, with a dreamy, cyberpunk-like atmosphere.
This is the banner that I use on my Playstation Pixy account on Mastodon.
I have these “on again, off again” periods when it comes to gaming. Sometimes a game becomes a hyper focus, especially when there’s collectibles that are needed for trophies 🏆. Or when there are different ending possibilities. When it’s a game that can be done in co-op, that can also be a factor of me diving in then, as I do enjoy playing and chatting with good friends.
But… My hands aren’t the best. So at times where I really want to play and the hands won’t allow me, it annoys me big time, and I can get quite frustrated with myself then. There’s also times where my motivation is present, where my hands are willing, but my ADHD just isn’t able to focus properly. I keep messing up then, which also frustrates me a lot. And, then, there are moments where I walk the SniffiVerse™ walkies with Arwen and I think about what I want to play when the chores are done later that day. But… When that time comes, I just am too tired, and too bläh, and I can’t really be bothered. Of course… That frustrates me as well.
But even though gaming can bring these frustrations to me from time to time, it can also give me relaxing times, and fun withy friends!

When I got my PS5, the first game (or one of the first at least) I played in co-op was “Man of Medan”. It was on PS+ premium, and my friend had it too. It was cross-play, as she was on PS4. And while the Dark Pictures games can be a bit buggy, we had a lot of fun.
I really got into it and, back when I had a proper printer, I found some walk throughs for the trophies of the game. I made notes, I scripted what needed to be done to get the most trophies in one play through. Some bits I played solo, others so did with my good friend. And all this focus helped me to get the game to 💯 all completed.

I got the other games that were out as well, the first two on PS4, as I could not find a special edition for PS5. And then the second two for PS5. The 5th game in the series should be released on October 2nd.
And then… My friend and I discussed other co-op games. We had played Minecraft in the past, but the cross-platform didn’t always work properly. My friend mentioned “No Man’s Sky”, and I did a little research and… Just ordered it. As I found a physical copy that was half the price of the digital one on PSN.

I played the game on and off again, alone or with my friend, and slowly I started to understand it a wee bit better. I found out that there were settings that made the game way too easy and unchallenging for most, but these were perfect for me and my bad focus and bad hands. I always call them my “baby settings”, and while some folks may shame people for playing it “the easiest way”, these accessibility features are just perfect for me! I still get to play co-op with my friends and they can have their difficulty settings while I can have mine.

I was super excited when Diablo IV came out, after I’ve spend ages with Diablo III on three different systems (PC, PS3, PS4). The bèta weekends were just so cool and I had the chance to play with some wonderful people that I met on Mastodon. And, for a while, I was all excited. But somehow I didn’t have the same click with it as. I had with 3, possibly because this was an open world with other players. In D3 you could group up with friends and play together, which was especially cool during the seasons, to get the rewards. But the open world for everything also annoyed me at times, as even D4’s easiest settings could be challenging for me, so when others interfered, even when they tried to me helpful, I just felt a bit uncomfortable. 😔

When my dear friend and I saw “Sackboy” in the PS+ collection, we had a go with that! And boy, it was challenging! Especially with my bad timing and stupid hands. We had fun as well! But it became harder and I struggled to get us passed one of the bosses. I think the game got taken off the PS+ service after a while, so we weren’t able to try it again.
I enjoyed “Life is Strange: True Colors”, and “Life is Strange 2”, while they were on PS+. As I really enjoyed the first LiS, these didn’t disappoint me.

I filtered for “Life is Strange”, but somehow PSN profiles just kept putting in the “Knowledge is Power” game in the list… 🤔 Lately, I’ve been enjoying the latest “Don’t Nod ” game, “Lost Records: Bloom and Rage” . Part one was released a while ago, part two releases on April 15th. I played through PS+, but I don’t have all the collectibles yet. There weren’t any proper guides that included all the needed items, and it’s hard to check the ones you already have. So now I’m waiting for part two and then I’ll give it another go.

But yeah, I’ve been playing some games, on and off again. Lately, I’ve been mostly playing “Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga”, “The Devil in Me”, “No Man’s Sky”, and then the first part of “Lost Records”. 😊
I’ll share a little vid taken from the Lego Skywalker game here. Just because I can…

So soon, I hope to finish “Lost Records”, and if I can find some decent and helpful guide, I hope to be able to get all the trophies for it as well. I also need to finish my solo play of “The Devil in Me”, but there’s one scene that I keep messing up, and I need to pass it for a trophy I’m trying to get. I do want to get further with “The Skywalker Saga” as well. And, as I write this, a new update dropped for “No Man’s Sky”, which I’m hoping to play very soon as well.
There is plenty to play, I have many games on disc for different Playstation consoles. I have PS+ (which I need to renew just after my bday, so I hope that I’ll have enough funds… 🤞🏻). Now all I need is a brain that can focus, hands that don’t hurt too much, and all the time in the world… 😉
The video features a sequence of images with a black background. Each image prominently displays the PlayStation logo, which consists of a stylized “P” in a three-dimensional design. The logo is initially shown in a bright yellow color with a multicolored base in green, purple, and blue. Below the logo, the text “PS PIXY ENTHUSIAST” is written in white capital letters. The logo then transitions to a blue color while maintaining the same multicolored base. The text “PS PIXY ENTHUSIAST” remains unchanged in white capital letters. The video does not contain any audio or additional visual elements.

some days... I can't get enough of gaming. I'll get as much as my hands allow me to play and I love it.
other days, I'm not the least bit interested, and I don't know why...
The issue with my bad hands sure plays a big role here. When the hands hurt too much, it's no use to want to game, cause I'll only be disappointed in my hands. But other times, I feel it's my AuDHD as well. 🤔
I either hyper focus on a game and go all in, for a short time at least. Or I just can't seem to be bothered, especially when I struggle with my concentration.
This makes me sad sometimes. As I know how much fun I usually have when gaming. Especially when I can play with sweet friends and chat along the way.
Due to the bad hands, I often need the relaxing games. Story driven ones (I know most games have a story to them, but I mean the ones where you don't have to play intensely to be able to make progress), like the old Telltales ones, or some of the Don't Nod games, or even the slightly buggy Dark Pictures games...
I also enjoy No Man's Sky, as it's veeeeery relaxed to play on what I call my "baby settings" (the easiest bits available).
I've played many Lego games, and some I even got to 💯 with, although some of them I had some help with... I am trying to get through the Skywalker Saga, but it's so different to the "old" Lego games, that it takes me some more time to get the hang of it...
I do enjoy many games, and some "harder" games can be challenging as well. I finished Horizon Zero Dawn, with some help for the hunting grounds. But I've not finished the sequel yet. And I haven't bought the Lego version yet, because... Money... 😔
But yeah, I either play as much as my hands allow, or I'm not even remotely interested.... and that feels weird to me at times...
Anywhoo.... As I just shared, I am excited about the new NMS update and I hope to try it this weekend!
